As a spin on the golden rule it gets 5 stars but, as a practical application, it gets a thumbs down. We today have compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, theft of the noble laborer's fruits, forced charity-ID-insurance because that is what the officers, employees, etc. of a de facto alien government have claimed for themselves.

I suppose one could twist this out of proportion as many of us confuse rights with privileges (i.e. government benefits and emoluments). I still give it high marks for the truth in it.

No one gives people their rights. It is up to every individual to claim and defend their own inalienable rights against those who would take them away. It is however our duty to defend others' rights as if they were our own.

I believe he was speaking in a philosophic mode not a material one. You obviously can't give any one a right, you can only infinge upon it.

In the times of ( Nonconformist ) in England, many splinters, denominations came forth. The Protestant Reformation continuing. The congregational movement. The cords that bound the religious body to the church of England, were slowly being cut. Many, many, still cling to socialism within the church at large. Oppression by way of The Old law, to sustain the flow of money. The Battle for Liberty within the Christian community. Without preaching the, Old law of Tithing, control is lost over the congregation. Paul, the Apostle bearing the message of Liberty, never mentioned tithing. We under Grace are removed form the oppressive nature of the Old Law ! Mischief takes advantage of the Old law. Hence, our Separation of church and state ! Deceitful deception, misuse of the Old law. Forced socialism. Freedom from the Old law, A Nation, an experiment of Grace and Conscience, in freewill giving, to support Liberty and Freedom. Threskeia religious trappings of church and state vs Threskos pure religion, under Grace and freewill of conscience affording the opportunity to preach Liberty and Freedom from the pulpit ! for there are two pulpits, one of the church, one of the state. Always has been. One can not purchase forgiveness, nor Liberty and Freedom, with money, but only by Blood. They are gifts From the God of Nature ! God " gives to every human being the rights of Liberty and Freedom" under his grace. Period !

If 2 sentences will do, Ron13 writes an epistle.

To secure Hearth and Home for the Sovereign individual, our Declaration of Independence, is a confession of the Law of Faith, in the God of nature, that supplies us, with his ordained rights of Liberty and Freedom. The Shining Light ! that comes forth, by way of, our Tree of Liberty ! Now it is seen more clearly, why politicians avoid its mentioning in open forum or closed for that Fact ! The Sacred cause of Liberty.
