Almost true. The friends he speaks of are not truly friends. They just say they are.

Those sunshine patriots and fair weather friends that destroy from within are those that support and/or at least justify compelled compliance, license, theft of the noble laborer's fruits, victimless crimes, forced charity - ID - insurance, etc. "... and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed ... We hold these truths to be self-evident"

Unfortunately those friends who hold high places and are shielded from the law and from the media only allow pieces of information out for public view. It is indeed the apathy of those who sit idly by in the comfort of their mansions that allow their so called "friends" to "get away with murder" - that is the tragedy more so than the friends. A patriot is someone who questions authority, questions the deeds of his peers, questions to decisions of the counsel and not someone or nation that goes blindly into the mire.

And that is what bugs me about the apathy of Americans -- we only think the enemy is some colored guys with beards and funny hats over 'there' somewhere that are planning on bombing us. We need to be more wary of the infiltration of our government by the fascist banksters and their legions. Why the Council on Foreign Relations goes absolutely unnoticed is beyond me -- they are the shadow government that chooses all our candidates -- we are being completely duped.
