Reply Mike, Norwalk 3/27/13 dick, good to see you again, jump in more often. 1 Reply E Archer, NYC 3/28/13 It has been my experience that 'the Truth shall set you free.' Search for Truth -- if God exists, he can be found (assuming he is not willfully hiding -- who can see God when he does not want to be seen?). The religionist sees God everywhere, the atheist sees God nowhere, the truth-seeker just realizes what is. From my perspective, as soon as you have defined God, you have turned God into a concept -- so God can be defined in such a way that the concept can be proven -- but it is still a concept.Few can even answer the questions 'Who am I?' and 'Why am I here?' much less speak for God. I cannot speak for God, nor do I wish to, nor do I wish to be coerced by others according to what 'God says.'So, whether I agree or disagree with this quote is simply an opinion of how I define God and what his 'cause' may be, I will simply say, I don't know if freedom is the cause of God, but such a concept could be reasonably assumed (but that would still be just a concept). ;-) 1 Reply Ronw13, Oregon 12/25/19 History surely repeats itself, there have been many kings, some good some bad. Lessons for individuals and nations, perhaps none so clear as David's afflictions and trials to enlighten man's understanding of freedom from oppression and death, in this life and also in that which is to come. In David's distress he called upon the Lord and cried unto God, the battle was hot, "then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth. He bowed the heavens also and came down: and darkness was under his feet. He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the sky." Ps ch 18, then God's face was revealed to David. As also Isaiah ch, 45:15 declares " Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour." king Cyrus knew him not, but came to know that the hand of the Lord was upon him, With this nation the USA, there is an "open vision" the face revealed to guide our nation, though denied by corruptions deception.
