Sounds like archaic altruism. I fear the greatest failure of Our Founders was, they neglected to accommodate for human nature - which living under Liberty, will always find enterprising opportunists seeking ways through the gaps left when U.S. Constitution is meant only for God fearing moral types. These days the oligarch gatekeepers of both parties ensure The Old Guard holds sway over any bright-eyed up & comers thinking they are gonna adhere to Founders' - or constituents' - intent.
