Prohibition endowed upon us the Mafia's ability to run rampant with Tommy Guns indiscriminately blasting away on the U.S. streets. The 'War On Drugs' has bestowed on the American people the drug cartels, i.e., Mexican Drug Cartels which have reaped havoc on many border states. The 'War On Drugs' needs to be overturned and rescinded as was wisely decided when Prohibition was finally and wisely thrown out!! Dr. Tom LaMar I wholly concur with all you stated. Reply Mary - MI 7/12/11 re: Dr. Ron Paul quote There is nothing that I can add when Dr. Ron Paul stated it clearly and eloquently,,,, Reply Mary - MI 7/11/11 re: Kurt L. Schmoke quote The "War On Drugs" has been a war and waste of tax dollars. It has contributed to creating drug cartels, a loss of numerous innocent lives and a huge criminal black market activity that has duplicated what Prohibition once created. The rescinding of the "War On Drugs" would take the illegal profits of out of the Mexican drug cartels and put their illegal activities out of business. 1 Reply Mary - MI 7/7/11 re: Gov. Tim Pawlenty quote Waffler - I don't even want to think about living in the Alternative Universe that you must exist in! I can't even for the life of me understand why you subscribe to this site when your viewpoints have been consistently in opposition. Or, maybe you suffer the ailment of Progressive/Socialists - the habitual need to stir the pot with mordant diatribe that isn't worth our time to read or the space that your nonsense takes up. 4 Reply Mary - MI 7/7/11 re: Mark Steyn quote Waffler - Smith - You need to go back and read what E. Archer stated - "I believe it has started a lot longer ago than with the Age of Obama -- the age of American fascism started in the early 20th century, solidified by FDR after the Federal Reserve crashed the economy known as the Great Depression. The New Deal ushered in the Age of Fascism (often known as Nationalist Democratic Socialism). Only this time, the con of the 'Newer' Deal is all too apparent. Stop the bailouts, which are nothing but one last theft by the very folks who created this mess. The baby boomers have been the biggest cash cow (or should I say 'herd') since the Fed started printing its own money. And their progeny knows little about what has been traded for their freedom." Then start into reading books on the Progressive Socialist by the name of Woodrow Wilson who was the ultimate start of the Progressive Socialist agenda to bring down this nation's Limited Republic/Limited Government. Or, you can remain in the "Fog of the Unknown." When Bigots Become Reformers The Progressive Era's shameful record on race. http://reason.com/archives/2006/05/05/when-bigots-become-reformers Reply Mary - MI 7/4/11 re: Ronald Reagan quote Jim K - Agree. We should be divesting ourselves of all the unlawful federal alphabet soup agencies. They have been robbing us of our time of life, committing legalized plunder on the fruits of our labor and stealing away our unalienable rights to freedom of choice and our constitutional protection to lawfully pursue our own happiness. 1 Reply Mary - MI 7/1/11 re: William Lyon Mackenzie King quote Article 1, Section 8, "The Congress shall have Power to coin Money." Not print or create money out of thin air. We need to get back to having the money backed by that which has true intrinsic value - Gold and Silver! Reply Mary - MI 6/27/11 re: Thomas Paine quote We are going through historical dangerous times and we have monsters in the name of Progressives on either side of the aisle who are not only trying to usurp but also shred our Supreme Rule of Law. The one man who has for decades stood steadfast on the belief that those who have taken the oath of office must wholly adhere to every nuance within the four corners of the U.S. Constitution is Ron Paul. He is the epitome of a true patriot. Reply Mary - MI 6/24/11 re: Walter E. Williams quote As Frederic Bastiat phrased it - "Legalized Plunder!" Reply Mary - MI 6/22/11 re: W. H. Chamberlin quote 'The Law That Never Was' Bill Benson http://www.thelawthatneverwas.com/new/theman.asp 16th Amendment was never ratified. Reply Mary - MI 6/22/11 re: W. H. Chamberlin quote Bill Benson went to every state in the Union to check out how and when each state ratified the income tax. What did he find? That the income tax was never properly ratified. Ratification was a sham visited upon the American people. Benson published two volumes of his findings and gifted each congressman at the time with the two volumes of his findings. What were the results? Nothing -- because congress as usual ignored him. Reply Mary - MI 6/22/11 re: David Bergland quote Why should Americans pay for Germany and Japans defense? Let Germany and Japan pay for their own protection. The American people are paying far too much and have become too heavily burdened with having our tax dollars protecting foreign countries. Our U.S. gov't is bleeding the taxpayers to prop up other government while it ignores the issue of protecting our own borders. Reply Mary - MI 6/20/11 re: Robert A. Heinlein quote A statement that is clear, concise and to the point! 4 Reply Mary - MI 6/17/11 re: Roger Pilon quote Roger Pilon gave a clear, concise assessment of the ruinous and manipulative actions of the Progressive/socialist Franklin D. Roosevelt. 1 Reply Mary - MI 6/9/11 re: Jerry Voorhis quote I rate this quote a 5 star because former Congressman Jerry Voorhis was and is one the few who willingly told the truth about the fiat monetary racket. Reply Mary - MI 6/8/11 re: Ayn Rand quote Excellent quote from Ayn Rand's book 'Atlas Shrugged!' Reply Mary - MI 6/6/11 re: U. S. Currency quote Waffler & Reston- It used to be that you could secure your gold and silver in a bank and you would then receive a paper note (certificate) with the ability to exchange back for your gold and silver that had true value. That is no longer the case. It meant that anyone could accept that note as something of true value because it was backed by the gold and silver on deposit. Now we have fiat money - in other words money not backed by anything but the "faith of the people." Our founding fathers had a reason to place in Article 1, Section 8 "The Congress shall have Power To Coin Money" because gold and silver have true intrinsic value, You could not print more notes or certificates over and above the gold and silver that were on deposit thus safe-guarding the true value of the paper notes/certificates that were held by every individual. Reply Mary - MI 6/6/11 re: Robert Reich quote This speaks volumes especially coming from Robert Reich. The Progressive socialists have not destroyed our U.S. Constitution, but the people have blindly allowed them to unlawfully and continuously usurp our fundamental and foundational freedoms and the supreme law of the land. Reply Mary - MI 5/30/11 re: National Press Club quote "We need to ensure that actions by our government uphold the principles of a democratic society, accountable government and international law, and that all decisions are taken in a manner consistent with the Constitution." International Law? Our elected and appointed representatives take an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution/Rule of Law. They do not take an oath to uphold "International Law." As Troy M. stated - "History has shown that a democracy always reduces to mob rule and then falls apart into a dictaorship/oligarchy." The United Stated of America was founded as a Limited Republic that places unalienable rights of the individual to protect them from a despotic and dictatorial government! 1 Reply Mary - MI 5/4/11 re: Abigail Adams quote A more realistic statement could not have been spoken! Reply Mary - MI 4/29/11 re: Art Harris quote How some IRS agents get their vicious kicks! Reply Mary - MI 4/28/11 re: Roger Pilon quote Excellent supposition! 1 Reply Mary - MI 4/22/11 re: Richard E.
