Searle Bates quote Religious Liberty - I need say no more... Individual rights are absolute and need no religious or societal affirmation. Reply RBESRQ 4/1/10 re: John Stuart Mill quote Brilliant! But, so sad, we are so far from its truth. If you had a civil society that understood the importance of each individual's rights we would have no need to guard our rights - just listen to the words of John Lennon's "Imagine". 1Reply RBESRQ 3/31/10 re: Eugene McCarthy quote The other great threat to Liberty are the radical libertarians. Reply RBESRQ 3/31/10 re: John Wayne quote Projectionism abounds... 2Reply RBESRQ 3/30/10 re: John Wayne quote It rankles me that "E" thought this worth while quoting 1 Reply RBESRQ 3/30/10 re: John Steinbeck quote And it will... Archer, I must disagree as present conditions prove. Reply RBESRQ 3/26/10 re: Heinrich Hoffmann quote Mike, lol, as you usual, you twist my retort to fit your own agenda. I would be the first to terminate such a person as Hitler; any comparison with those you mentioned is childish to say the least. I do agree with everything you said (in the middle section - my partner is a Jack-Mormon so I have a little more of a base to term my opinion. Though many Mormons, like many other religious people, are ethical and goodhearted, but unfortunately, like their Muslim friends they do not come forth to lambaste those who are spewing hate etc, etc. Reply RBESRQ 3/26/10 re: The Emperor of Azania quote cal, the point is will you want to collect.. Reply RBESRQ 3/26/10 re: C. P. Snow quote aa, hb you have it backwards - Medicare is by far less expensive than PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE and produces better results. You have been hoodwinked like most Americans by corporate propaganda - they even have an office for propaganda which they keep very quiet about. Reply RBESRQ 3/25/10 re: Heinrich Hoffmann quote Wow! what a hot topic! Similar to what the Mormons and most religions believe what a coincidence... Well Eric (Editor) you certainly stirred the muddy waters... good to see you back Terry Reply RBESRQ 3/25/10 re: The Emperor of Azania quote Not a bad idea perhaps the health insurance industry would go belly-up. cal, never say never you may need it one day - I suppose you will collect on Medicare and your pension when they become due? Reply RBESRQ 3/25/10 re: C. P. Snow quote Wait, I see on the horizon that they will make homeopathic and holistic medicine illegal or the need for FDA approval which of course will never be given. I have use homeopathic medicine for years and it has cured my high blood pressure, and cholesterol, and my aching knees. I remember a long time ago I had this excruciating stomach pain and my friend from Columbia gave me a green liquid which cured my pain plus I had a great sleep (I know what you are thinking, no, it wasn't cocaine). By the way, all you taking Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) without it being a complex are asking for trouble; this is yet another myth that makes you even worse while enriching the health care industry. 15Reply RBESRQ 3/25/10 re: Ayn Rand quote Women, mother, they are one of the same, the "inalienable right" is absolute. Why don't we kill those responsible for killing innocent women and children in the name of a force flag war. Why stop on the subject of abortion? I'm sorry, but I see a lot of hypocrisy on this blog and as for Anonymous I understand why its anonymous. Reply RBESRQ 3/24/10 re: C. P. Snow quote We spend twice as much on health care than any other country and yet we have one of the worst in the western civilized world. Health care should not be a profit center and don't worry Archer the Left is very much aware of the obamanites and their fascist leanings. Like you Judith I ran health plans and know only to well the abuse in the present system - I ran a 501c3 health group which cost 30% less than commercial health plans. We presently have thousands dying in America because of denied coverage. We have millions that cannot afford individual coverage - when they leave their employer they are unable to afford coverage - even COBRA only lasts 18 months and that too is expensive. It is a travesty that we think we are civilized and yet we are not. 15Reply RBESRQ 3/24/10 re: Ayn Rand quote Archer, LOL, your remarks are tautological - how the hell can you call minority groups preferential when all they want are the same rights. Though I do agree in a perfect world when all are respected equally there would be no need for minorities to fight for equal rights. It's OK to kill millions in wars, covert operations, denied health care, etc. but dare you mention the rights of women to govern their own body. Reply RBESRQ 3/23/10 re: Immanuel Kant quote Good point Archer. Mike, you wish it was Socialist Amerika because it will be the Socialists that rescue you and jim from the fascist's and the corporate war machine. It's already beginning to happen in Europe. Though, in America, we will be lucky if there is anything left to rescue. Reply RBESRQ 3/23/10 re: Edmund Burke quote If it robs them of acting and reasoning then they deserve to be fearful. Reply RBESRQ 3/23/10 re: A. Whitney Griswold quote But we can legislate ignorance. Reply RBESRQ 3/20/10 re: William Ellery Channing quote Liberty is absolute, untarnished by man's simple excuses for freedom and rights. Progress is subjective, one man's progress is anothers regression. And, power corrupts absolutely. And, sounds far more like an excuse for the far-right and religious fundamentalism for concentrating power in the name of Liberty. Reply RBESRQ 3/20/10 re: William Cowper quote Liberals are flowers amongst a sea of weeds - don't you Libertarians know your own ideology? Reply RBESRQ 3/20/10 re: Will Rogers quote Liberty is all a matter of opinion Reply RBESRQ 3/15/10 re: Lord Byron quote It was Gandhi who said "I like your Christ but I do not like your Christian's, they are so unlike your Christ" he was spot on. It's sad to see so many denying themselves the incredible gift of life and allowing themselves to be sucked in by the invisible bogeyman - wake up people and throw your crutches away. By the way, Byron was bisexual and hated religion - some may want to change their ratings 1Reply RBESRQ 3/15/10 re: James Otis quote Another religious hijacking of what is rightfully the rights of all Human beings - God didn't give man a natural right to freedom man did. Man can indeed fight for his freedom and it will not be the behest of any God but himself. We can start on the road to freedom by outlawing religion and kicking out all the right wing fanatics and over zealous nationalistic rednecks. Reply RBESRQ 3/13/10 re: Bellamy Brooks quote You Libertarians make me laugh - you just spew your ignorance by the barrel - the sad part is that theirs a market for it! 1Reply RBESRQ 3/13/10 re: Abigail Adams quote Carlton, your comment, well, no comment.
