Brilliant! Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 2/26/15 re: James Madison quote I think the Government requires a great deal more circumspection than the rest of mankind. Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 2/26/15 re: James Madison quote Well, the American government and its master, the corporate oligarchy, is surely in contempt of this statement. Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 2/19/15 re: Richard Hofstadter quote The sentiments of this quote need drastically to be revived... Students and faculty need to be proactive in bringing this about.... It must be achieved from within..... Walker quote Yes, single payer - do away with Medicare and have everyone based on Medicaid (only because the process is already in place, though I would definitely change some of its administration and the way practitioners and facilities are reimbursed). The present system is so corrupt it needs a total overall - let me tell you one small abuse of the system: when a patient is seen by a primary care physician and is treated for a particular malady, but the patient asks to be treated at the same time for another malady in addition, the patient is told to make another appointment. This is so the practice can bill for another office visit which is not allowed if the two maladies are treated at the same time - this costs the government and insurance companies millions every years. Archer, how about corporate engineering??? Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 2/17/15 re: W. K. Clifford quote Yes, and the more we become subjects of tyranny the more it shall prevail.... Religion of course being the biggest offender. Joe, if you are correct it makes discussion on any subject pointless, as you can always preface your argument on FAITH "well, that's what I believe". This kind of argument brought about the dark ages..... I thought we had all moved forward from these terrible times - perhaps I am mistaken? Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 2/17/15 re: Robert Hughes quote Intolerance is always with us, though throughout the ages it is sometimes more and sometimes less. Euphemism is the tool use by those who direct their agenda towards those they wish to subjugate, i.e; "Terrorists" means you are in my way and need to be destroyed.... Intolerance is caused primarily by ignorance, religion, and nationalism. Today, intellectualism is frowned upon as it usually is when fundamentalism raise's it's ugly head..... 2Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 2/17/15 re: Dwight D. Eisenhower quote There's nothing divine about our rights - our rights are given to us by the law of nature. Our rights have never been guided by divine influence but by the struggle and suffering of the peoples' of the world and will continue to do so........... Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 1/31/15 re: C. S. Lewis quote One of the few Christians I admired - definitely not for his political views but for his battle with reason. Though I do wholeheartedly agree the specialist should remain a specialist, period. 12Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 1/31/15 re: Mencius quote You guys are crazy - talk about "understanding" you really need to do some homework as to the cause of Americas demise. It sure has nothing to do with the secular or socialist movements. Just look who owns the press, the corporations, and the banks, and who is really in control. I see this great land is now going to imprison those who criticize the use of vaccinations... America needs a total replacement of all political parties with a socialist government... Fascism is is becoming the American way and no one seems to care as long as their little bubble is not being effected... The Multitude has yet to understand......... Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 1/31/15 re: Chris Hedges quote I'm sure we could squeeze the military in there somehow... How about "and the military squandered our resources and killed millions of innocent people" Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 12/18/14 re: Aldous Huxley quote Prophetic considering when it was written.... if he was alive today he would add corporate hegemony..... 2Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 12/15/14 re: Thomas Babington Macaulay quote Most parents shouldn't be parents and most governments shouldn't try to be parents....
