Waffler every thing is relevant to the situation at hand. Other countries may have higher tax rates but you are comparing apples to oranges. In the Scandinavian countries the tax rate is around 75%. Almost all take home is used for food. The government subsidizes every thing, food, housing, transportation you name it. I know this sounds good to you but it gives the government total control over your life. Do not forget that the consumer pays all tax. Just because a corporation sends taxes into Uncle Sam does not mean corporations pay taxes. They merely collect money from the consumer in the price of the product and then pass it on. This keeps you from realizing just how much tax you really pay. That is why the left love taxing corporations. They get to screw you while you thank them for sticking it to the evil corporations that they rant about.

We hear all these things and yet it seems things are so much better than the 60's or 70's. The average person has so much more. Not only that the opportunity we have seems greater. Our productivity has been so far advanced through technology that it takes a fraction of the labor to produce a considerable increase in product. My kids have had it so much easier to get a house and support a family that I did in the 70's it is ridiculous. Granted the inflation and economic damage that was done by LBJ printing money (set up S&L mess) along with Carter's incompetence and Nixon price and wage freeze the 70's were horrible. It has been much better since. It is hard to believe any statistics any more with how they are so easily manipulated. Listening to the radio on the way to work I hear about price inflation caused by food and gas prices and hear that only certain items are tracked to come up with the figure. Obviously you can come up with different figures depending on what you track. This brings you back to the agenda of the person doing the tracking. He can make it look as good or bad as he wants.

He is talking about BIG BROTHER. Big brother is clearly now and has always been COMMUNIST. And further more Wayne LaPierre knows that.

Right now it is exactly the opposite. Those ranting against war are in fact tyrants and helping other tyrants to succeed against us.

Bush has never been a conservative. The term "compassionate conservative" was proof of that. To imply that conservatism is not founded in compassion is pure ignorance. Hence he does not have a clue as to what conservatism is. He is however an honest man and usually a decent president. I doubt that any one selected to be an advisor to Woodrow Wilson would be worth listening to. I doubt that he had any clairvoyant powers about the crash. The act of the feds may not have helped the situation but I doubt it caused it.

It is not necessary to have money in circulation. I have a few coins in my pocket on rare occasions yet I receive and spend thousands a month with out ever seeing any money at all. I doubt there is very many that actually deal in cash only. I think that the powers that be would love it if cash became a thing of the past. All transactions would be traceable at that point and we would have no ability to participate in commerce with out big brother knowing it all.

The only Democrat that I liked, Wish his stay in the congress were longer. Being a Democrat he was a crook of course, and that did get him ousted. He probably would still be there if he were just a crook and kept his mouth shut. Great quote. Don't buy into the sales tax crap though. We would just end up with a sales tax and an income tax. Guaranteed. The current tax system is heading towards less that half of the income earners paying income tax. At that time the majority of voters will not be directly affected. It then will be no longer politically feasible to oppose tax hikes or advocate tax cuts. We can then expect to be taxed into serfdom and socialism will arrive with great public support.

Waffler you always think backwards. The US government only gets 20% of its revenue from personal income tax. Get rid of the income tax and the savings from the IRS payroll leaves not much for the resulting booming economy to make up the difference in revenue. Remember the Government gets a percentage of the gross national product in the form many different taxes besides income tax. Grow the economy and tax revenue goes up. Get rid of personal income tax and the economy will go nuts. Another side effect would be the end of a need for any type of social giveaway to perfectly able body wards of the state. This would be just more money in the bank for the Government. Then they could cut some other taxes and create even more prosperity. The main problem is that when you create prosperity you no longer need Waffler types in the government to hand out our hard earned money to their voters. That is why any type of tax reduction is so viciously fought.

The worst thing about socialist activity in our government is the incredible amount of damage it does to those it pretends to help. This has created people that have for generations learned nothing but dependency. The only responsibility they have is to vote for more.

They get bonus bucks for that activity. A lack of terror in a taxpayer's eyes is seen as a failure.

Excellent. Another example of what a president should be. If we had a government made up of people with his philosophy we would have better relations with the world, an economy booming, record tax revenue flowing into the government, and tax rates dropping. What a country it would be.

The IRS activities to force payment are extra constitutional. Perhaps that is what the dudes in the robes are saying. Maybe the dudes think your trip to jail is voluntary.

We voluntarily obey all laws or not. Then we suffer any consequences that come with them.
