Our current economic mess was definitly a bipartisan effort. 3 Reply jim k, Austin.Tx 12/2/10 re: George Orwell quote There is much wind coming from the Obama, Reid, Pelosi Axis but I'm not sure how pure it is. The Republicrats have given them everything they ever wantd, so why bother . 3 Reply jim k, Austin.Tx 9/17/10 re: James Madison quote J.B. said it well, the withholding tax was a "temporary" tax to finance World War 2. Once the politicians found out they could use it to bleed the taxpayer a little at a time instead of all at once they fell in love with it, and so much for that "temporary "part. As to Lasky, don't compare our current politicians to ass holes as assholes are vital and useful. Don't insult them by comparing them to folk like Reid, Pelosi, and Obama. 4 Reply jim k, Austin.Tx 7/20/10 re: John Adams quote Trying to talk sense into Waffler is like teaching a pig to whistle, it can't be done. Obama says he wants the economy to improve and then does exactly the wrong thing to make it happen. Since the government always takes in more revenue when taxes are lowered ,and the folk in our Congress know this, then there must be another reason why they plan to raise taxes. Raising taxes kills any hope of improving the economy so why do they do it. Perhaps our wonderful president has no intention of seeing our economy improve, do you suppose.
