Oh, and don't forget to be politically correct.(Sarcasm here).

Thank goodness for the internet.

A perfect example of doing the opposite of what the wording implies is The Affordable health Care Act. As PJ O'Rourke once said," If you think health care is expensive, wait till you see how much it costs when it's free." We are seeing this now.

To coin an old boxing term, the news media are bobbing and weaving in support of the current administration.

It's hard to forget, in spite of these platitudes, that he was a communist.

The color of his skin may have been red as he was a communist.

Cecile, best reply to a quote that I've heard in many a moon.

In dealing with the state, it's better not to.

Justice and liberty do not emanate from inside the beltway, just the opposite.

GWD, your thoughts on the U.N. are right on target. I do have some doubts about the comments on Bush.

We don't need to be burdened by having to make choices. The wonderful and kindhearted experts inside the beltway make them for us.

Mr. Spooner is usually right and this quote is no exception. The so called war on drugs is an example. People went to jail for the "horrible" crime of smoking pot and even having small amounts in their possession. We stopped burning witches at the stake but vestiges of puritanism still abound in this country.

I think that too much space was devoted to Waffler. The truth of the quote should be obvious to someone as confused as Waffler.

jim k, Austin, Tx

Mike, the same for me.

The War on Drugs is the problem, not the solution. Check out LEAP, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition if you think this "War" is lowering drug use. It causes a multitude of problems and cures none, except to keep prison guards employed and jail builders busy.

A man here in Austin got 25 years in prison because the prosecutor hid evidence that would have proved he was innocent. He later became a judge and this information became public and he was charged with withholding evidence. He was found guilty and sentenced to 10 days in jail of which he served 5 and was released early for good behavior. He did lose his law license and has to do about 300 hours of community service. Five days in jail, my, how the good old boys protect themselves.
