Well, someone will rule, so it might as well be an idealist. If the outward appearance is a hypocritical one, who is not somewhat hypocritical? If the idealism is simply a tool for conquest, not at all felt or advanced in the policy, then you could probably find enough rope to take care of the situation.

E Archer, NYC

There isn't enough rope to take care of the situation now, what makes you think we will when we have an idealist in office? Both Clinton and Bush are idealists. The only ideal the People have empowered the government to promote is the ideal of Liberty as per the US Constitution -- still yet to be realized.

Cynical, but SO true.

Mike, Norwalk

for example: the noble toga is draped over the anointed one in supporting the idealism of race bating (complete with selected prosecutions, or lack thereof), class warfare, mingling of religious ordinances & government privileges & sexual orientation, and the implementation of theocratic economics (government being the legal positivist god mandating its superiority and joint venture in all fiscal matters) in destroying prosperity.

Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

Well, for openers gentlemen are not criminal politicians. The social gentleman strives for an achievable excellence for a life sustainable, developmental atmosphere. Dominating power is of no interest.
