“Mankind is at its best when it is most free. This will be clear if we grasp the principle of liberty. We must recall that the basic principle is freedom of choice, which saying many have on their lips but few in their minds.”

The only political party to believe in freedom of choice is the libertarion party.

It is a two edged sword.

Criminal acts do not fall within the here germane topic. Certain derelicts may be appeased or temporarily happy abiding a slave's life under socialism BUT, man is never at his best until he is truly free (the truth will set you free).

E Archer, NYC

Mike makes the correct distinction.

This is only half true.  Freedom without virtue will result in offenses (intended or not) against someone or something (water, soil, food) that people need to survive and thrive.  We are all born free...but that only lasts if we do our best to take care of each other and nature.  Because... “Everything is connected, everything is interdependent, so everything is vulnerable.... And that’s why this has to be a more than whole of government, a more than whole of nation [effort]. It really has to be a global effort....” Jen Easterly, Director of CISA (Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency - our nation’s newest federal agency established in 2018) Oct. 29, 2021 https://www.c-span.org/video/?515706-1/protecting-critical-infrastructure The word ‘everything’ is an autological word – defining itself. We usually forget that our environment is our fundamental vital life support infrastructure! With everything vulnerable humanity must unite.
"There will be no Homeland Security until we realize that the entire planet is our homeland. Every sentient being in the world must feel secure." - John Perkins

Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

That infernal philosopher. Humankind is at its best when practicing life promotion, and that simplifies the choice procedure.
