General MacArthur and "Boss" Kettering both speak from the seat of command and experience. Their insight is right on! Santayana is a philosopher, so his take is significantly different. We need both points of view to guide and sustain our civilization. The forever problem is deciding who to listen to and when to do that. Philosophers live in ivory towers only because somebody built the towers for them. The builders had to have had some success in life in order to have the wherewithall to undertake the construction. Somebody has to "make" the money. That is a complex task that few understand. That they are often well rewarded is offensive to some. If you take offense, what have you done? We also need our generals to lead our armed forces in defense and protection of our land and freedom. If you don't like war, you are never alone. Just about nobody likes war, but at some point the threshhold of our existence must be defended against those who would take it away. Thank God and the grief stricken parents for the souls who have done this for us. We need philosophers too, but they are a luxury we can not always afford or abide. Finally, it is the curious blend of these three forces that must have long term harmony along with some real brutality at times in order to keep us going. The great experiment that is America has done well over the 234 years it has been working on the balance and the blend. Praise God and pray that He will ever be the place of our ultimate trust.

I am concerned for the security of our great Nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within. ~ Douglas MacArthur

Liberals, Socialists, and Communists like termites , destroy from within.

MacArthur was a brilliant general, however, he became arrogant to the point of forgetting that the president has the ultimate say in all matters military. He was knocked off his pedestal although many people were not happy to see that happen. Irregardless, his belief that the price of our liberties is inescapable if we are to keep them intact is valid. Too many people for too long have thought that we have to "go along to get along." We now know that by doing so, we are giving our tacit permission for those who would destroy our liberties to forge ahead with their nefarious plans. Just when I had given up all hope of our salvation as a nation, the common sense, God fearing Tea Party shows up to save the day. All who love this country and what it stands for need to fall to our knees and thank the Almighty for these Tea Party participants who may just save the day yet.

The price of Liberty must be paid everyday. To long the few have control the many. We the people have set back, with a naive atitude. "Let the Government do it, that's what we elected them for." With no oversite, those with their on personal agenda, have moved in and taken over. We have been hoisted on our petard. Wake up we must paid the price of Liberty. That price is not always on the firing line in foregin lands, giving your last breath for Liberty. The easier way to paid the price, is sometimes the hardest. To stand up for Truth, Justice, and the Americian Way. Yes we have forgotten the Americian Way.
