“It takes a long time to understand nothing.”

It has been said that the more we know the more we realize how little we know. This quote takes that principle to its ultimate end it seems.

Our U.S. Congress proves this on a daily basis, and how about the guy who says that we won't need to drill if we just inflate our tires. He hit me right where I live and I'm not going to drive on flat tires anymore. It's exciting to think that we could have 4, maybe 8 years of this profundity.

I don't think this quote is about the long road to truth. It's about the guise of truth, and the effort required to prop it up. The IRS tax code comes to mind. It's about dazzling them with BS. The truth is usually short and sweet.

In this age of ever increasing specialization we know more and more about less and less until we know absolutely everything about nothing at all.
