George Huddleston Quote

“That is reserved expressly to the States and is not granted to the Federal Government by our national charter. The Federal Government has nothing to do under the Constitution with the preservation of public order. To pass this bill is to pass a bill for an unconstitutional purpose, under the guise of regulating interstate commerce.”

Obama is taking Arizona before the UN for doing the Federal Governments job? Are you kidding me? Time to return state powers to the states. The UN can take a flying leap.

I think the quote is generally correct but I wonder how the clause that reads "A republican form of government is guaranteed to the states" would fit in here. I could see the Feds moving in if a state gave up "a republican form of government".

Article I Section 8, clause 3 of the Constitution reads: "Powers of Congress; To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;" The terms 'regulate' and 'among' here, as according to the founders and their writings were; 'regulate' was a conjugation of regular or to make regular (not make statutes concerning intrastate anything and everything) and, 'among' was a descriptive alternative to between. The lawful intent of the clause was meant to say the Federal Government was to secure a regular flow of commerce between the several States, Indian Nations, and foreign Nations. The clause makes it overly clear that the Federal Government has as much right to make statutes controlling commerce (or anything else) within a foreign Nation as it does within any one State or Indian Nation. All other interpretations are unconstitutional and contrary to law (fiscal and otherwise).

J the UN Obama thing is BS. As far as human rights if Americans care about folk having things like "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" is it not fair play or turn about that folk care about us having things like that also. The UNCHR is generally known to be a dog and pony show with no authority whatsoever.. The way we act, behave and do thngs in the USA has a profound effect on all other nations. Of course they are aware of our immigration problems and policies as we are interested in theirs.

Really waffler...The Obama thing is BS? That low life is just a tool in a series of tools for the New World Order. Why else would he "Sue Arizona" for enforcing Constitutional law? he wants the borders wide open to help destroy these United States that's why. He's a treasonous bastard and should Impeached immediately. Take a look for yourself. ~ http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/US-Arizona-Sheriff-Lawsuit/2010/09/02/id/369097?s=al&promo_code=AAA5-1 ~ And the UN is merely a store front for world communism...they can go to hell to. OH!...and have a nice day.

J Carlton, thank you, said well

Waffler, Smith

He is joined by many others including the Mayors of Arizona cities, the Republican Governor of Texas etcetera, etecetera, etcetera that wish that Arizona would not take this action. I like you J am for the Arizona law. I do not understand all the arguments or legalities. The difference between us is I understand a little bit about nuance, respect for others opinons etcetera and acknowledge the fact that I am not a know it all.Obama's enemies will always lose agaisnt him because they operate out of anger and irrationality while he is cool, rational, and intelligent.

The only immigration problem we have is the welfare state. If you eliminate that then there is no issue with open borders. We had them for quite a long time and we thrived as a country. When people feel like immigrants are able to unfairly take advantage things paid for through taxation they get resentful.

The usurpation of the federal government has really gone too far. The problem is that most of the States are now dependent upon federal money (which they can just print up whenever they want) and essentially have bought power with nothing more than a promise that the People will pay. It is all about power and buying votes with empty promises (hope and change -- one day). The hispanic voting block is big enough to keep the Demos in office. It is believed that the Democrats represent the interests of 'minorities' although I believe that is only to buy votes with other people's money. There are however a good number of Republican latinos that are hard working, tax paying, property owners that resent the Obama policy of NOT protecting the border from illegal immigrants. You can count on globalist programs and policies from the federal government no matter who is in office -- their job is to gather more and more power into fewer and fewer hands. Time for states to start standing up for their sovereignty. Unfortunately, the govenorships are mostly the same federalist stooges often governing states that they didn't even grow up in -- why were the Bush's governors of several different states? How did Hillary get a NY senatorship -- all she did was move in and run for election. This cabal is working against the interests of the People and the states, and Arizona is on the front lines. Interstate commerce is the basis of the entire legal system in America -- the Uniform Commercial Code, federal law that all the states have to uphold. It is the premise for gun control, the war on drugs, the drugging of our children and elderly, income tax, paying farmers to keep land fallow, the end of private enterprise, the right to borrow on the backs of the people for ever and ever -- when will the people wake up? If there are 1 out of 10 of us unemployed, can not the unemployed stand up for our rights now while they have the time? What else do you have to do?!!
