I like it a lot ! ! ! I really like the clarifier, "productive" . A clear and understandable picture of the American dream (now nearly lost to the dogmas of socialism) From personal experience, I find the content of the statement absolutely accurate ! ! !

As much as I disagree with the Mormon Church he has a point. My spouse was a Mormon now a Jack-Mormon and I know how the young are cocooned from reality - the key word here is "Productive".......

A very agrarian society. Without regard to their beliefs or superstitions, they still have a conscience to walk by or not. Symbolism is mostly misunderstood, Jim. There are more Mormons in Idaho than Utah. They are a very diligent bunch. Some of the oldest families, German. Next to the miners, you can't find a heartier people. This is with respect of those that live in the high country. I've known a few bishops. Content is great. The more remote the freer we live. You meet responsibility head on.

The quote is right on, never mind the fallacy of judging words not by their content but by the supposed beliefs of the speaker (or political party, religion, sex, ethnicity, wealth, etc.)

All religions are 'goofy' to those who have a differing philosophy -- Einstein's theories were considered goofy at one point, too. The Mormons possess a strong work ethic, from what I have witnessed, and no more hypocritical in the practice of their beliefs than other sects, religious or secular. People's beliefs are their own -- how one 'practices' is where the rubber meets the road. The Amish come to mind -- now there is commitment to one's Christian ideals!
