That about sums it up.

The problem being, not many people employ them of their own free will. Too many people have become lazy to the point that they let, no, need people to tell them what to think, what to believe, what God to worship, and what is right and wrong.

Too true Raleigh. Like the followers of the Rev. Jim Jones-too many dummies looking for a leader.

"Intelligent companions" I think is crucial and why compulsory government schooling does more harm than good. I was a very good kid before I got thrown into public school and exposed to a very large variety of ignoramus's and their habits. Being smart was considered to be a strike against you. I would never subject my children to that -- screw 'socialization' -- I am not raising socialists.

Archer, I'm with you. My last child to graduate from college just did it with multiple degrees. This particular child also started college at age 15, got married, had kids, never took out a loan, never got a grant, didn't ask me for money, was the president of clubs on campus, would rather read a book than watch tv, and never attended a day of government school. The private college attended doesn't take government money either.
