The job to answering the world's problems is even worse now that our country is the prime contributor to them. Amen to Prather.

Not! What a shallow, simplistic view....Dick. If the US is the source of the world's problems, why do we have to fight to keep them out? "Our Country" includes YOU. People who see the benefit of freedome and free enterprise and yet still insist on socialism and paternalism will remain mired in misery-....we are not exporting that...are we? Churchhill said it best: Capitalism's problem is the unequal distribution of wealty, while socialism's virtue is the equal distribution of misery.

Gracious sakes, Mike from Houston and Bob from Eugene. Do you guys even know who Hugh Prather IS? Do you know what he stands for? What he teaches? Bob, Hugh always focuses on individual responsibility and Mike, did you really think he was talking about the surface vision of a no-win argument about how mankind denies their unconscious fears? I didn't feel like letting your ) and 2 star unconscious twists on the truth override Hugh's depth-oriented wisdom. Perhaps you should do some reading before you judge a statement you don't understand... but then how could you understand it from a state of unawareness? Peace, brothers.

It is with great sadness that I learned about the passing of Hugh Prather a few weeks ago. He was one of our greatest teachers and His Notes to Myself was the first book I ever bought as a teenager. I am really sorry to hear about it as there are so few teachers around. We will all really miss him. Your time came too soon. Thank you.

That quote hits me right in my heart, especially just the concept of being aware of "the world's immense and protracted suffering". It's like, it really shouldn't be this way and certainly doesn't need to be.

The underlying principle deserves 10 stars+. Immense and protracted suffering includes of course lack of food, clothes, etc while the primary cause is socialism.

There has always been a need, to look closely at one's self. But now, even fence sitters, are touched in their hearts, that that good conscience, ever bearing witness to the soul, ( heart, seat of emotion) shines the light of the Spirit of Liberty and Truth.
