Change the words federal to state and vice versa in the quote and you have the situation in the U.S. today.

That Constitution and and the republic for which it was to define exists no more. The occupying statist theocracy infesting this land, along with its Executive, Judicial, and Legislative clergy live by anti-law canons and subject the once land of the free and home of the brave to tyranny and all other forms of malignant despotism.

Somehow this fact is ignored by both the government and the people at large.

Dictator Barry Soetoro, aka Obama, along with the republirats and demorats need to read the Constitution instead of leaning towards and accepting communism. Read the Declaration of Independence where it says we can abolish the government and institute a new one.

Please! I admire Madison so much, but don't forget that this quote is part of his political efforts to get the Constitution ratified. He was trying to reassure the Anti-Federalists. The 10th Amendment did not yet exist. He was a federalist who believed in the supremacy of the national government.
