“But what do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations…This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.”

Before the war commenced, the American Revolution was that each individual was a noble sovereign that was "to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them" (Declaration of Independence). The American Revolution was to bring about a land of liberty with free individual sovereigns. Religious sentiment was to be absolutely independent to the individual with the body politic administering natural law - a separation of law and religion (no theocracy). Politically, duties and obligations were to be at law - not the will of another. Today's occupying statist theocracy that infests this land is antithetical to liberty, freedom, natural law and justice while the 'national establishment of religion' dictates submission of all individuals and their religions.
