Reply J Carlton, Calgary 7/12/10 Don't take ANYTHING from government. It denegrates your independence and therefore your very existence becomes that of a serf. Pointless. Reply Mike, Norwalk 7/12/10 It reminds me of the Aesop quote: "While I see many hoof marks going in, I see none coming out. It is easier to get into the enemy's toils than out again." The bait ranges from wealth to security, all extolled by cunning craftiness, whereby carnal liars lie in wait to deceive. Reply Carol, Georgia 7/12/10 The bait is just too enticing. It lulls those unaware into a trap from which there is no escape. The trap was set many years ago and the bait has become more enticing while the one being baited has less and less ability to resist. LBJs bait has caused a domino effect. Clinton tried to curb the deterioration by initiating "Welfare to Work," but after generations in the trap, families know nothing else, and accept the lot they find themselves in as normal. Very few even remember what real normal is anymore. Ronald Reagan said it would only take a generation for freedom to be lost. The tragedy is this might be the one. Reply E Archer, NYC 7/12/10 Those already ensnared want everyone else to be ensnared, too, rather than break free. Most of us already have the keys to our freedom, but it requires courage to attempt an escape. Reply RBESRQ 7/12/10 O how tempted we are at times. The road to freedom and liberty is through self-discipline. Reply Anonymous 7/12/10 It is a problem already at hand, struggling in the snare. As we are all hooked together in some manner, even if it is by sharing a fence, we are attached. The grocery store is the biggest chain around the ankle. We voted the wolf to rule even if we didn't personally cast a vote for the wolf because we weren't working to see that the wolf didn't get elected. And, this is NOT a lone wolf, this is a pack of wolves and they are already eating the innocent...and tho you may not feel the fangs in your neck today, it won't be much longer until you do...10 million people who work nationwide in the oil industry are going to be out of a job in just a few weeks. We will be starved into submission...to a dictatorship...who would have guessed this could have happened to such a wonderful, generous, God fearing country. Reply Wayne, Naples 7/13/10 Reply LemBo, Bishopville 7/16/10 Oh, But to have the wisdom to realize the subject is bait. Reply Dapo, Portland 7/17/10 There is much wisdom in that. But, of course many of us are not aware of all these things. We go around with our eyes closed. We can't smell anything, is like we suffer from fever. We don't want hear. In other words-we're in deep trouble. SaveOk2 SaveOk2 View CommentsClick to view or comment.
