From some one that was overly qualified to make the statement. This was / is addressed to all those that thought / think the government can do that which they can't do personally.

Well, let's just take Joseph Goebbels' word for it.

"Hi we're from the government, and we're here to kill you if you don't submit". Mike you're right of course. but I would add that socialists are people who "need" to be told what to do as they are in and of themselves completely dysfunctional.

Guest, what would your word on the subject be ? How would you define socialism and the relationship of the individual to government (the I to the thou) ? Would you go along with: socialism is any of various systems (communism, fascism, the ism of progressives, etc.) of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned by government, often planing and controlling the economy. To help understand the current state of affairs in Amerika; ownership by title is not ownership at all. Titles are bestowed by courtesy for the privilege of holding or continuing a possession at the allowance of the master (government - try not paying your taxes, having some friends over to study scripture, or decorating your home in some disapproving to a socialist way, the real owner will then act with extreme prejudice). The title - that is: granted special prerogative(s), can be revoked by rule and whim of the master (the thou). Further, a license is A right given by some competent authority (the thou) to do an act, which without such authority would be illegal (the 'I', can't contract or otherwise do business because it is illegal without the 'thou's' special authoritative permission to perform the otherwise illegal act) Corporations are legal bifurcations: the officers and stock holders are the day to day operations directors while the government is the beneficiary that owns the rei (substance or thing) while also defining what the officers and stock holders can do. By way of example; a business owner (government issued title) requires a business license and here operates under Keynesian economics. In a socialistic atmosphere, an individual such as Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench the assassin might say you cant do that. (a system of 'I's submitting to the 'thou's) A terse caveat, socialism expects a 'willful' submission.

In the days of the Nazis (nationalist socialists), there was no hiding the fact that socialism was the ideal. Today, socialism is merely covered up by the words 'liberal' and 'progressive' because everyone knows socialism is a dirty word -- as well it should be with the blood of millions on its hands. We can take Goebbels' word for it because that is what he believed and what all the propaganda was directed towards. Of course, socialism is a con because it centralizes power into the hands of other humans. The masses are coerced into serving 'the state' -- but of course, the fuhrer/caesar/monarch considers himself to BE the state. Socialism is a form of monarchy/religion that worships the power of men, to whom all are to submit 'for the common good' which in the end are those in power.

Hitler was not a socialist. He ordered the socialist wing of the party murdered in their sleep during Night of the Long Knives in 1934. And he waged a war of annihilation against the former USSR(Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The NSDAP's pamphlet entitled "The Road to Resurgence" was for German bankers and industrialists' eyes only. It was reassure them their banks and industries would not be nationalized as per socialism. In fact, it was business as usual for German and American industries doing business in Nazi Germany.

Patrick, The history of socialism is from a definition of central / government ownership and control (even though it is called communal). Mussolini patterned his socialism through a format of corporatism. Mussolini then coined the name fascism. Hitler recognized that fascism was far more efficient at advancing socialism than was communism. Banks, securities firms, manufacturing, distribution, farming, production, etc. were allowed to keep their same names and administers under a corporate structure while government ultimately owned and controlled everything (everybody).
