Absolutely, it's just common sense.

Generally, it is primal pride and fear that animate the actions and ambitions of those who would suppress freedom of expression.

I can think of other ways I'd like to be honored -- a greater honor it would be to not be silenced but acknowledged for one's words.

He must have considered everyone superior.
