liberty does eliminate unduly restraints (socialism's many facets - communism, progressivism, fascism, etc., and the seemingly innumerable faces of despotism and tyranny)

Nice quote, liberty diminishes liberty when those that are free take away the liberty of each and every other individual by taking away their rights in underhanded ways. And yet people still believe those they elect are there to save their ignorant asses from the evils of life when all the time the ropes around their necks tighten as legislation continues.

Waffler, Smith

Something liberty means the absence of law, others think unbridled liberty is the same thing as being a "libertine". The word libertine was made famous in the song "We Got Trouble" in the "The Music Man" with the lyric "libertine men and scarlet women". Some teach that there is no true liberty without law and describe the Ten Commandments as the "law of liberty". Just some food for thought to ge figure on.

He who wears the mask of Liberty, for the sake of Liberty, instead of the face without the mask, is doomed, as is those they have power over.

It's the same old thing: even a free man can end up a slave by freely making the choices and freely taking the actions that lead to slavery.

How many laws does a society need? Congress can't make enough laws fast enough, now the Judicial Branch must plug up the holes left by the incompetents in the Legislature; then as if this isn't enough, the Administrative Branch (the pres) has the power to make his own laws in the form of presidential edicts. All these "laws" incidently, exempt those who make them. The key phrase is "unduly restrain" Today's administration laments the fact that there exists a Bill of Rights which restrains them from telling "we the people" what we can and can't do. They howl about the restraints put on them by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. "How dare a bunch of dead white rich people tell them how to run a government?" Rumor has it that BO is working feverishly to create a new and better Bill of Rights which will establish the rights of "groups" to replace the present outdated concept of the rights of individuals.
