Michael Korda Quote

“The freedom to fail is vital if you’re going to succeed. Most successful people fail from time to time, and it is a measure of their strength that failure merely propels them into some new attempt at success.”

Unless of course you have a government ready to spend your tax dollars to bail them out. I will forever refuse to do business with Government Motors Corp. or their counterpart, Chrysler Corp.

(-; Been there, done that - graduated from the university of hard knocks, got the T shirt and a movie is coming out ;-) In this socialistic society of ever expanding depravity and poverty, why is the only word heard 'get a job' (some Marxesque sound bite such as be the government's or some other master's worker)? Where is the noble clarion 'start a business' so that you may not only help yourself but help others ? You may fail it is true but, get up and propel yourself (and other) to success ! ! !

Naturally the clarion call of liberals is 'Greed". Libs give greed a bad name. If a business man is "greedy", he still needs to hire others and the "others" benefit.

(-; jim, I like it ;-) Even when I labored at locations where I owned nothing but my own labors, I considered that I was working independently for myself. I signed agreements where I would perform and others would perform in kind (provide equipment, a place to labor, an acceptable monetary exchange, etc.) On occasion, I terminated my agreement for various reasons (school, more challenging endeavors, greater monetary exchange, etc.). Any failures, as a socialist or world at large would claim, were only learning experiences in understanding success.

One can apply for a Gov't. grant! It's not necessary to have
a real purpose, just make something up (are there fleas on
the dark side of the moon, maybe) When the grant is awarded,
flee with the money! The Gov't has so much bad paper floating
(student loans etc.) around they would never catch you, or even
notice that you were delinquent. A few more dollars added to
the national debt won't hurt anything.

You cannot learn without making mistakes. The idea that we must be protected from making mistakes is a trick of those who wish to dictate. To 'protect us from ourselves' is the perpetual ideal of the State.
