He is correct about what the state, society, and politics should be all about. How we relate to each other outside of the home and on the "street" etc. It is not about religious belief, creationism, etcetera. We don't need a politics that lies about scientific facts.

I take offense to the first sentence, but agree wholeheartedly with the second. Keeping in mind that Canada is a monarchy, the government does indeed legislate rules for the nation -- but there is SUPPOSED to be a difference between a monarchical form of government and a republican form of government. Defining 'rules' and 'a well-ordered society' is up for grabs as far as politics goes. Making up 'laws' we must 'obey' is the actual work of government.
