Agree J Carlton, he speaks of the pure essence of freedom of spirit, but I have discovered words fail to describe its beauty and majesty with the real justice it deserves. Abolutely glorious and even that sells it short.

Nice and uplifting poetry but BS in reality. The gentleman is free to obey or to go to jail. And that is a legitimate choice as the civil rights movement proved. Civil disobedience can change things. I think Ben Gunn is on to something with his comment. On the job once I sided with an outside client against my employer and all of my bosses and management at the risk of major retribution. I was correct and morally responsible in my action and the result turned out perfectly well. It usually pays to do the right thing even against the odds. PS: "If you know the right."

Idealistic. Right isn't might, unfortunately. Yet, if one can hold steady to your ideals when standing alone in a field of idiots and innocents, one is free. It takes an independent resolute person to find comfort in that ideal. Waffler was apparently successful in winning over authority and felt justified in the effort.. Perhaps management didn't have much to lose and let him have that one. When your whole being is at stake and you are up against ruthless foe, better to make sure what the risks are and that you can live with them. Dying is easy, as it is soon over, not to diminish M. Brown's quote.

It's a declaration, not poetry. It is the stand of a freeman, who must always decide for himself what he is for and against.

Is this the scientology dude? It's still a great quote. A keystone piece of living is to accept responsibility for your choices and the outcomes. Too many people never learn this and we all pay the price of their ignorance.
