Not only is it "on par with forced labor", it's extortion, pure and simple.

I think it goes against better business practices to have a silent partner who provides no service and assumes no risk but takes (by force) half of everything you have. Pretty much makes innovation pointless doesn't it? That's what socialism does...it kills human action.

Income tax is a realtively new concept in the American Republic spanning only a couple generations. It was put forth by the fascists of the day as 'temporary' and only about 1% of income -- not salaries though. And little by little it has become a way to keep the people down. If you are taxed at the 90% level, what is this saying? It says that the government has put a limit on how much a person can earn -- and how much they owe the state. 'Progressive' taxation is a communist plank. The colonists declared war upon the Crown for a mere 2% tax on their goods -- what will it take for today's Americans to say "NO MORE!"?
