Since the idea that we have any kind of representation in government has become something of a sick joke. it follows that we suffer taxation without representation. Once upon a time, that sparked a bloody revolution...

Some one once said that if you thought taxation without representation was bad, you ought to see it with representation. Most of our "representatives" are big government lefties who are into power and control and have nothing but contempt for the voters.who keep reelecting them.

Waffler, Smith

Taxation with representation now that is the answer. What J and Jim mean is that when there views are not ascendant or in the majority, there is no representation. All that the colonists really wanted was equality as Englishmen. Since the crown treated them unequally the cords of fidelity were cut. The US now has the lowest rate of taxation since the 1950's. The inequlity of income people is the largest in the industrialized world. Bush's attempt to return the nation to the Gilded Age of robber barons and corrupt politicians failed but will take years to correct.

Your incongruous dichotomy is a double speak word salad with multiple contradicting differences. By example; In the de jure States united “the laws of nature and of nature’s God” (Declaration of Independence) were to be the sole jurisdiction within a “republican form of government” (Article IV, Section 4, U.S. Constitution) - (non of such now exists). Such foundation did NOT address a representation of corporeal chattel but rather, inalienable rights in liberty at nature’s law. Individuals, with their many differences can NOT be represented harmoniously to a whole of united personages. Rights and liberty at nature’s law can be represented as each individual sovereign intrinsically / inherently has the exact same rights and liberty at law.

Justice is blind with all individuals being equal before the law - no majority or minority is contemplated. The “equality as Englishmen” desired was to rights, liberty and nature’s law and NOT a socialist / communal enslavement. “A man is no less a slave because he is allowed to choose a new master once in a term of years.” (Lysander Spooner)

More accurately and to the point - The U.S.’s “robber barons and corrupt politicians have more effectively implemented the rights / liberty / nature’s law destroying 2nd plank of the communist manifesto than any other nation. The demonic priests / priestesses of the occupying statist theocracy now infesting this land have stolen everything We The People rightfully / at liberty / lawfully possess(ed) through a guise of tax on trade, our property, our produce, our all.

Obviously the US tax system heeded the lessons of colonialism.

Actually Waffler you're far too simple a socialist to have the tiniest concept of what myself or Jim might mean. It is impossible for a quasi communist system to represent an "AMERICAN" on ANY level...but I'm sure they represent YOU very nicely. :)

This is in the context of a colony to colony trade. The United States was designed as a free trade zone, among other things, this does not suggest free trade to the outside the union. A response to the Tea Tax on Revere. A not very revered tax. Sales taxes could be considered in this. Although it could suggest that all not being a tariff on the foreign or local/state income or profit tax (not a produce, you sell a product and profit or a better year is the only new income, not savings). National taxes on members of the Union is just like the colony taxes, a Huckabee consumption tax would be a cause for a real tea party. Value Added Tax, how is a value added to anything with a tax? Consumption taxes tax all products at all levels of consumption. Happy Constitution Day everyone.

The current vote, as corrupt as it is, is to select a new jailer in any given cycle of time. The dummied down elect individuals to represent the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land. I know of NO body politic on the earth that represents at law, the rights of the individual sovereign or "We The People".

Oh wait. You do that too.
Never mind.
