Thomas Sowell Quote

“What is ominous is the ease with which some people go from saying that they don't like something to saying that the government should forbid it. When you go down that road, don't expect freedom to survive very long.”

But that is the oldest trick in the politicians playbook.  Whatever they want to do, they first create a problem for which the solution is their original plan.  It's their bread and butter.  How come no one asks where the government has been delegated the power to prohibit various drugs and plants from the people?  The drug laws are there not to stop the drug trade but to monopolize it and profit from it.  Who would be out of work besides the drug cartels if drug prohibitions were lifted?  Half the prisons, courts, lawyers, police, pharmacists would be unnecessary.  Americans should be tired of their uppity servant government which now dares 'govern' their bosses.
