I agree with Mike.  Is the author referring to ideas which are really progressive or ideas the proponent wants us to believe are progressive?  The people who today want us to call them progressive and liberal are still selling the ideas of socialism which have been proven to make false promises every time they are tried.  We even celebrate Thanksgiving which started as a celebration of survival under freedom of enterprise after abandoning the false promises of common wealth (as in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania).

We were founded on the rule of law as a republic and are deteriorating as we become a representative de-mob-ocracy.

You can't even trust the definitions. No business has to include expenses in their taxable income. However, American taxpayers have to allow the EXPENSE of government to be included in Gross Domestic Product!

I am weary of the fact that our republic has degraded into a democracy. Today's Americans don't even know what a republic is.

WRONG! The main beneficiaries of our sending borrowed money abroad are tin horn dictators who put the money in their private Swiss accounts and still hate us.

Our DC employees certainly consider themselves "more equal than others" dispensing privileges. We have to obey Obamacare, and they don't. Yes, I have animosity toward them.

Our own government is following the pattern of all governments. Our DC employees in both parties and in all three branches are ignoring the controls placed on them by our Constitution and committing any crimes they consider to be expedient. The only feasible answer is to restore and strengthen our Constitution by a convention of states.
