Reply Robert, Sarasato 8/10/07 re: Justice John Marshall quote Everything is manipulated nothing is sacred, so don't beat a dea horse. Have a great weekend, Robert Reply Robert, Sarasato 8/9/07 re: Harry Emerson Fosdick quote Yes, as long as its Liberty and not a facade Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/31/07 re: Earl Warren quote Precisely, where did common sense go? 2 Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/24/07 re: Felix Frankfurter quote Yes, I confess I didn't do it! Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/23/07 re: Sir Winston Churchill quote Yes, indeed, and in action how sad it is that this courage has been abused by the highest in our government. Those that find the strength and courage to do what they are told - the lies and deceit that brave souls follow. When I see such courage thrown to the wolves of war and greedy manipulators who remain safe in their beds, we should cry for the innocent and their courage; those brave souls slaughtered for greed and ignorance. Courage also comes in many forms – it’s not just the battling of the mighty dragon it is also fulfilling your commitment to the responsibilities you have taken on in life. Rising early helping your children wake to a new day; preparing food for your family, cleaning your home before you trek to work, laboring for ten hours without complaint or rest and then hurrying home to prepared meals again, helping your children with their thoughts and ordeals – sharing a moment of love and peace, and when nights falls you work again and then wake as before and repeat the cycle seven days a week – that is Courage. 6 Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/23/07 re: Caryl Parker Haskins quote This is the only road out of the darkness we are in - it is a road this nation must find again. Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/17/07 re: James Baldwin quote The idea is beautiful but not reality - If you have that thought while being tortured in a dungeon, a concentration camp, being captured by the janjaweed, or any other horrific situation for which there is no escape, then all I call say is that you have the power we are all seeking. Say to a child with HIV, dying of starvation, whose parents have just been slaughtered, 'you are as free as you want to be' - we live in a world where the intellect is limited and where for the vast majority the power over mind is just a dream. We as humans have a responsability to provide our fellow beings with the condition in which freedom is liberated. 1Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/16/07 re: William S. Lind quote Unfortunately its the educated elite who are being barred from the corridors or power and allowing idiots to run amuck. All despots realize they must first do away with the educated elite to ensure power for themselves. Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/16/07 re: Walter E. Williams quote Not all the educated elite and experts are bad people - there are a few goods one's. Our job is to get rid of the bad one's - there's a wonderful line in “Jason and the Argonauts” when his son is about to rush into their home and kill “the bad one’s” he turns to him and says ‘Son now is not the time to throw the spear’ then towards the end of the story he turns to his Son again and says ‘Son now is the time to throw the spear’ - I think we have reached that moment. Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/15/07 re: John Marshall Harlan quote Nicely said but sadly untrue... There was a big gap between the Constitution and Martin Luther King - and the list is long. We are intolerant towards those who are different; we are class conscious with regard to wealth. There are two factors that damage the essence of the Constitution and they are summed up in two words; greed and intolerance. I’m amazed how we pick and choose what is sacrosanct in the Constitution – either rewrite it or leave it alone. Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/15/07 re: James Madison quote All humans period... Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/11/07 re: Clarence S. Darrow quote It needs no explanation - it reminds me of "they came for the Gypsy's, they came for the dissidents, they came for the homosexuals, they came for the Jews, then they came for me' Reply Robert, Sarasato 5/7/07 re: Alf Mapp, Jr. quote Totally without reason or intelligence – its blatant statements like this that encourages greed and apathy in the world. So the privileged are to remain quiet unless they are poor and downtrodden. SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
