Reply warren, olathe 12/21/07 re: John Adams quote That is what I said Dave. Revelations had lines in it that inferred that the prophesy was not far away. Reply warren, olathe 12/19/07 re: John Adams quote Right on Mike. Reply warren, olathe 12/19/07 re: John Adams quote At hand goes along with the fact that 666 was code for Nero. The code 666= Nero to the Jews and 616 = Nero to the Greeks. The Greek version of Revelation uses 616 instead of 666 and for many years people thought it was a translation error. Nero fit the prophesy to a T but the question remains - was he the only one? 4 Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Merry Browne quote Look what honesty gets a man like George Bush. Nothing is hated more than an honest man. We do not tolerate honesty in politics. If you actually listen you will find that many politicians promise nothing they just speak in platitudes and generalities. Your job is to fill in the blanks with things you wanted to hear and then if he was skillful enough you will believe he actually said them. Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Georg Christoph Lichtenberg quote Ponder would be more appropriate of a word today than question. The word question has taken on some negative connotations in recent years and perhaps changes the original meaning of the quote. Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Roger Williams quote He requires faith and cares not about denominations or "group think". Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Eleanor Roosevelt quote Neat how did I do that? Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Eleanor Roosevelt quote II suspect she was talking about the different denominations of the Judeo Christian religions. That would make sense. In an Islamic country mixing in other religions makes for a very unhappy situation. Christianity on the other hand adapts fairly will to neighbors of differing religions. So I can agree as far as Europe goes but not when you look elsewhere. Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Alexander Hamilton quote The idea of civil rights comes from men that placed the sovereignty of god over that of man. There would be no civil rights with out religious rights. Remove god and you will have tyranny. Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Thomas Y. Bayard quote "Let me issue and control a nation's economy and I care not who writes the laws." sounds like a quote I heard once- “let me write the songs and it will not matter who writes the laws." Both are perverted with some truth thrown in to make the ideas dangerous. I have no doubt both are in practice today especially the song part. Reply warren, olathe 12/17/07 re: Albert Einstein quote I doubt that he was speaking of what we palm off as art and science today. So I have to believe he was speaking of true art and science. What we have today as art often is nothing but degenerate. What many call science is nothing but pure propaganda. Reply warren, olathe 12/13/07 re: Menander quote The wise are obedient to God. The foolish ignore or deny him. Reply warren, olathe 12/13/07 re: Tom Braun quote The wise acquire knowledge not the other way around. Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Aristotle quote Liberalism / socialism is the only religion I know of that breeds tyrants. Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Aristotle quote Right on Mr. Rosenthal. I can't think of one person in history that was a tyrant and also religious in the modern sense. In Aristotle's time the world was full of religions that involved very despicable acts as part of religious rituals. Many ancient religions were devoid of any concept of human rights. In the last 200 years I do not believe there was one tyrant that was not an atheist / communist / socialist / Darwinist / fascist. Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Aristotle quote Good quote in its day. Now it is just the opposite. Play like you have religion and its ok but if you really do, like GWB, then you are distrusted and hated just because you are religious. Nothing is as hated as an honest man. That is the quote that is most applicable to today’s politics. Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Lord Acton quote I believe this quote is true. That is why I can't believe in the trilateral coalition or the illuminati or any of all of that other crap. Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Aesop quote Nice quote. It was primarily for the purpose of humor. Humor has to have a ring of truth or it isn’t humor. Have read your comment over and over Jack but am still scratching my head. Can't find a cognitive thought in it. 1 Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Thomas Bailey Aldrich quote Bet most of us think we would be a pretty good despot. Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Henry Brooks Adams quote Fancy words but I don't believe him. Unfortunately a person will quickly loose all concern for truth liberty or anything else when he is starving and rotting. He can only begin to think of higher concerns when his basic needs are met to at least a minimum degree. Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: Samuel Adams quote Thank god we have people like George Bush that thinks like Sam Adams and is willing to protect all that our forefathers fought and died for. If we were to impeach something it should be stupidity and ignorance. 4 Reply warren, olathe 12/11/07 re: George Orwell quote The sentiment here is that when the guns are gone then freedom and democracy quickly follow the guns. Orwell was quite aware of the intentions of the left. Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
