In 1918, a small group turned Russia into a communist country and today a small group is turning this country into a socialist state. And not just the thugs in power now, this has been going on at least since Lincoln.

Do nations become corrupt ? Ours has gone from Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Franklin to Pelosi, Reed , Franks, and Obama, so you be the judge.

And Republics degenerate into democracies which commit suicide when people find out they can vote themselves goodies from the government trough.

Here's a slogan appropriate for the US Congress. " What ,me worry, I have my own health care, not Obama care."

If our government followed the Constitution there would be no Department of Education, no Agriculture department, no OSHA, no EPA, no HUD,no Department of Energy, no foreign aid, no IRS, no income tax, and a few dozen more unconstitutional items of theft from taxpayers, and no national debt.

We are definitely in the do or die stage in this country with the commies now running it into the ground.

The Obama, Pelosi, and Reed crowd have no "fundamental principles" except to get all the power possible and turn this country into a communist state.

Freedom, we may regain some if and when we vote out the thugs which mostly infect the Congress today.

I don't "hate immigrants" if they are legal but I'm not to crazy about the hoards of illegals from South of the Border who are destroying our country.

As to "illusions of hope", we got a dose of "hope" with Obama, but hope is just delayed dissapointment in this case.

It costs the Fed about 3 cents to have a 100 dollar bill printed and then they charge interest on that bill. They are called Federal Reserve Notes and you pay interest on notes. What a racket, you print money at little cost and then make interest on it.

If what the government is doing doesn't make you tense, then you might be dead or maybe just a liberal. I think it was Mark Twain who said," No man's life, liberty, or property is safe when the legislature is in session." Especially true now with the likes of Obama, Pelosi, and Reed running things.

Judith, a reply to your comment yesterday about alcohol prohibition being eliminated because people started using gas in their cars instead of alcohol. This makes no sense. There were two main reasons why prohibition was over in 1933. It simply did not work, made thugs rich, and many people were murdered in the streets during this period. The main reason was that the feds weren't getting any taxes from illegal booze. Prohibition of alcohol and drugs always makes the "problem" at least ten times worse.

David, Toledo, you are correct. People forget, or maybe they never knew, that Mandella is a Communist. Our "progressive" press will never mention it, and that's for sure. For the uninitiated, "necklacing" was putting a rubber tire filled with gasoline around someones neck and setting it on fire. Winnie Mandela was famous for this tactic for anyone who opposed her.

As to the past, we seem always to repeat it. The so-called war on drugs is a great example. It parallels the 1920 prohibition of alcoholic beverages, making thugs rich and doing nothing to stop drug use. Our politicians know this but haven't the guts to stop it . Drug cartels don't fear cops, the DEA, the Army, the National Guard, or anything except legalization. Many years ago , we had county "wet' and "dry" elections here in Texas. Dry meant that you couldn't sell liquor in a certain county. The old saying was that the Baptists and the bootleggers always voted dry. Drug cartels are fearful of legalization, nothing else.

Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up.
