Like Moore we shall all probably die because of religion - what a curse this myth has become. He was a good man but some what misguided by his religious beliefs.

Robert, I happen to agree with some of your conceptual ideology. Between the current statist theocracies and the bigoted religionists of a faulty science interpretive, the future looks to be fairly rocky. Can you illiterate some what on Moore's misguided religious beliefs? Was his concept of a Trinity more in line with Jefferson's; or, did it have more to do with a curse that will kill us all? You may want to change your religion - quick.

Mike in Norwalk, Some basic history: Sir Thomas Moore was beheaded by the British Crown because his principles and faith in Catholicism would not allow Moore, a man of power, to consent to the divorce of King Henry VIII from Queen Catherine to marry a lover who was (unlike Catherine) Henry thought was able to produce male heirs. Henry was famous for beheading those with whom he disagreed. Moore was one of many. Few in our day would back their beliefs with their lives, especially concerning a king's divorce...perhaps that's what RBESRQ meant by "misguided religious beliefs." However misguided, I view him as a brave man who lived his life on principle, and Moore has earned my respect.

Joanne from Morgan, thanks. I am aware of Moore's history as you've stated it. My context was specifically directed at RBESRQ who is extremely bigoted and inflammatory to all religions but his own. Many of history's atrocities have been committed in the name of religion. Religion is also responsible for most good done in the world. RBESRQ continues to try and redefine words, terms, facts, and concepts to ridicule others religions as myths while justifying his belief system as the one and only true way. I would hope that I have Moore's strength as you've stated it. Thanks again for trying to help me out.

I think you guys are confusing Moore with More -- Sir Thomas More was the Lord Chancellor under King Henry the VIII and was executed. The Thomas Moore above was a famous Irish poet.
