The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil. I think that it's the lack of money, not the love of money.

Thank goodness that Gephardt is a "former Congressman".

Mr "New Deal" started us down the road to socialism with all his government programs to end the depression. Even though they didn't work, he gets credit for getting us out of the depression when it was World War 2 that accomplished this.

Read my lips, Anonymous is exactly right. A UN with teeth would be a nightmare.

Waffler, this quote is not the ramblings of an "old" man but is perfectly consistant with the plan of the liberals in the Ford Foundation, a one world group if there ever was one. The Ford foundation supports ultra left wing groups all over the place, check it out.

I doubt that most Americans could stand a dose of reality.

The difference between a rattlesnake and our congress is this: A rattlesnake won't bother you if you just leave it alone. Would that we could say this about our government, dream on.

Maybe so, but we keep on electing them. This group, one of which will be president, is 3 political hacks of the worst sort. Ain't it fun always voting for the lesser of the evils.

Actually, Benito was not a socialist , but a facist instead. Fascism is not of the "right' but is of the "left". Liberals are always saying that Mussolini and Hitler were of the far right , but they were actually far lefties. Check out the book, "Liberal Facism" and find all about Benito and Adolph, it's a real education.

Ah yes, this brings up memories of Cook Co, Illinois and Duval Co.,Texas. In Duval County the votes always seemed to be counted last, interesting. If you can find one , read "A Texan Looks at Lyndon", by J. Evets Haley. Amazon probably has one available.

Joe , of North Caldwell , says it well and it's especially true around election time .

If the people wanted virtue , Slick Willie would have never been president and we wouldn't have to be annoyed by Hillary , God help us.

Look at the three of which one will become president. We have come from George Washington to one of these . From statesmen to hacks in a little over 200 years.

If this doesn't sum it up, then nothing will. This quote is about as perfect as it can get. Would that that criminal bunch in Washington would take this to heart. Not much chance, I fear.

There is a great book called " The Essense of Jefferson", by Martin Larsen. It consists of writings and letters by Jefferson. His views on government, religion, just about everything are included. A must read to learn more about Jefferson, from his own pen.

Great comments. Check a book, "The Way The World Really Works" , by Alan B Jones.

Today they are your friend, tomorrow your enemy. Who was it that said to avoid entangling alliances with other nations, or words to that effect. We should have heeded that advice long ago.
