Bush quote Unfortunately he has made the world a far more dangerous place - it will be decades before we have the trust of nations back again. This President with go down in infamy - he should be Impeached. We will only bring the number of troops in Iraq up to what it was in May of last year and we were loosing then. Before we invaded Iraq they had no terrorists. We made the bed we now sleep in. We should support our troops and bring them home. We should totally rethink the way we deal with terrorist, and one way is called INTELLIGENCE Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/11/07 re: Randolph Bourne quote I give it five for its inverted wit Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/10/07 re: Albert Einstein quote Excellent - that's if we have one to fight over. Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/9/07 re: Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit quote I agree with EGL though you must read the Geeta to understand the otherside of the coin - well done Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/9/07 re: Baruch Spinoza quote It's essence is what deserves 5 stars - we could talk all day about its meaning - perhaps there wouldn't be a dagger at the throat if we had that "state of mind" Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/9/07 re: Alexis de Tocqueville quote Right on Reston and Joe, and well done Mike from Norwalk for a polite retort. 2 Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/8/07 re: Justice Louis D. Brandeis quote We invaded a sovereign nation which was not at war with the US and a nation with no terrorists and we had no right to do that, period - no matter how you spin it we were lied to. The whole thing is a mess - I support our troops and want our boys and girls home now. 2 Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/8/07 re: Justice Louis D. Brandeis quote The war machine and its propaganda ministers are well versed in the use of words such as patriotism, loyal, freedom, and democracy. The public is ignorant to the reason for war and the reality behind decision making - we just go along under the banner of patriotism and loyalty to our leaders. The press is to frighten to provide discourse (opposition) as its finances are based on popular opinion and commerce (greed). Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/4/07 re: Hermann Goering quote Moderation is the key to a long life. Even Krisna advised battle at one point. I give it five as it accurately describes most regimes including our own. 2 Reply Robert, Sarasota 1/3/07 re: Abraham Lincoln quote Now, doesn't that sound familiar - look how that same reasoning was use to invade Iraq. We will only attain peace when the spirit of the warrior refuses to fight for reasons of power, greed, and monopoly - when individuals become educated, compassionate, and tolerant. Wars are fueled by the fire of ignorance and hatred. Man’s second leap into this world may never have the chance to materialize unless we start again to nurture the flames of enlightenment, kindness and self understanding. Good, I got that off my chest… Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/29/06 re: Mahatma Mohandas K. Gandhi quote What a great quote to end the year on, unless the editor will be sending more over the weekend. Freedom without the right to make an honest mistake is not Freedom - bad behavior knowingly is another thing. It all boils down to your own interpretation of to err - if it can be proved that you killed without knowing in your heart that you are taking life from another, regardless of it being right or wrong, then you may be innocent, but that knowing in your heart is what makes the difference - then you are not judged by others but by your Self and it's there where you loose your freedom. WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY NEW YEAR Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/29/06 re: Mahatma Mohandas K. Gandhi quote What a great quote to end the year on, unless the editor will be sending more over the weekend. WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY NEW YEAR Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/29/06 re: Butler D. Shaffer quote An excellent quote - but not so innocent. WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/27/06 re: Dr. Thomas Fuller quote You can believe (in what?) without living by your beliefs - it happens every Sunday, and the rest of the week. Belief in yourself is the important factor not some distant heaven - we all tend to live in the future based on our beliefs and this is what's wrong in the world today - let's believe in the moment and do something about it. I agree with Jack, its a non-sequitur 1 Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/27/06 re: George Jacob Holyoake quote Make the practice of truth in all you think, say, and do, your New Years resolution - have a great new year everyone 2 Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/21/06 re: Saint Thomas Aquinas quote Dick, Excellent! Believe in kindness, desire kindness, and do kindness - we are the key to our own salvation. 1 Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/21/06 re: Pierre Corneille quote Heaven is what your Duty makes it. Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/21/06 re: Daniel Webster quote This thinking has been the downfall of civilization and will continue so until we are gone and will just be a dirty memory in the history of Earth - Earth definitely needs another Krishna if we are to save ourselves and obtain true Liberty. 3 Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/20/06 re: Tecumseh quote Right on E! David, it's not the subject of the view that's being respected but the right to have a view. Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/19/06 re: Albert Einstein quote Sorry, I meant the Dalai Lama: "This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness". Dalai Lama Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/19/06 re: Albert Einstein quote I have used this many times and believe it should be on the cover of all school books. Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/19/06 re: Albert Einstein quote Buddha said it best but this is a great second... A superior spirit is the collective spirit, no one or God lays claim to it. 83Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/14/06 re: Vladimir Ilyich Lenin quote Mmmmm, that sounds very familiar David are you sure he hanged peasants I thought that was Stalin Reply Robert, Sarasota 12/14/06 re: Hermann Goering quote Obviously he didn't know the difference between giving and taking Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
