A. Whitney Griswold Quote

“Books won’t stay banned. They won’t burn. Ideas won’t go to jail. In the long run of history, the censor and the inquisitor have always lost. The only sure weapon against bad ideas is better ideas. The source of better ideas is wisdom.”

~ A. Whitney Griswold

A. Whitney was wrong on this one, otherwise we would know the [relatively recent] secrets of the Mayans and Aztecs. The Spanish inqusitors did one helluva job [in the name of God] of destroying for all time what we may have learned and benefitted from.

That may be, but to destroy information, is to destroy the discoveries of perhaps generations. When the library of Alexandria was burned, the fields of science were sent back centuries. I agree that the Truth will ever make its way known, but censorship can definitely push it back.
