As was true then, it is true today. Much of today's communism and other similar administrations of collectivism are mingled with fascism to give a degenerate amalgam of State despotism, tyranny, oppression and otherwise complete conversion of social power into State power. There seems to be a grass roots freedom awakening to individual liberty which is hastening the 'state's' conversion process.

Subordinating the individual to the will of a group is the impetus for all matter of oppression. Of course, when a collectivist structure is formed, there are always individuals who aim to put themselves into a position to influence the collective -- and these are usually the examples collectivists use to demonstrate that the individual cannot be trusted to govern himself because he seeks to be a dictator. What the collectivist doesn't see is that if there were no collectivist structure to hijack, individuals would simply be responsible for themselves. By creating a seat of power, there will always be those that seek it -- and usually get it by nefarious means. The collectivist in fact worships power.

Just bear in mind that this neo-collectivism that enslaves us now, demonstraed by the corporate olegarchy that controls every facet of our lives, that directs our politicians and dictates policy; is what is anhilating the individual in western society.

And we celebrate those entities; we wear their t-shirts, drink and eat their crap. And the government that we (supposedly) elected allow them to continually rape us...

Hanson, and the granddaddy of the oligarchy is the private Federal Reserve that has the 'right' to create money out of nothing and funnel rivers of cash to whomever they wish to prop up while pushing the obligation of the 'debt' onto the people.

You can blame the media for the programming and conditioning of the people and the government filled with hand picked candidates from the right and the left to keep the racket going.

Follow the money. Don't just blame 'corporations' which is way too vague -- corporations are businesses, even a socialist utopia of government bureaus are still 'corporations.' It is when corporations are treated as giants with more rights than individuals, and individuals treated as corporations with all the limits that were imposed on corporate power that 'corporations' get the upper hand.

Most of this corruption of words began in the early 20th century. There is no corporate takeover of America -- it is the private banking cartel that has taken over America and the corporations that have grown up around them. If only the Occupy Wall Street folks had identified the real culprit from the start, maybe more Americans would be wise to the con of the last 100 years.

When there's a boot on your neck, will it matter if it's a left boot or a right boot? Hanson nailed one today..."Corporatism, which is adhered to by the right and the left is the root of most of our problems...and Archer is right...at the root of Corporatism is the Federal Reserve and its affiliates.

The serious student is trying to concern themselves with their own distinctive life promoting ideological alternatives to these  distinctions, quite frankly equality and justice. Socialism is the challenge of social abilities to create equality and justice.
