And now that one thief is no longer around, the remaining thief is free to plunder wherever and whenever he desires. GWB put it ever so nicely when, on the results of his election, he said - "I now have a mandate from the American people. I can now do whatever I want!" Oh, what a shining ego!

Its neither true nor humorous, a waste of words.

jim k, Austin, Tx

True and funny.

Waffler, Smith

It ain't funny. If it is true why is it not true of all alliances. Why are alliances between "nations" any more evil than alliances between any thing else (cities, counties, states, people).

J Carlton, Calgary

Waffler, if the "alliances" are formed by "governments", its pretty much a given that someone is stealing something from someone...what with governments comprising largely of thieves and con men.

krista, palm springs

This made me laugh, and then cry (not really, as I am over the wave of anger that engulfed me when I first learned about the state of our world, and our governments role in it)........after investigating the current, and past events of our world (and governments) I have found this to be true. But things are-a-changin and that you can take to the bank (oh, do NOT even get me started on the International bankers!)

E Archer, NYC

It's not so funny because it IS true.

Patrick Henry, Red Hill

Lamentably, the character of fallen human character is such that supposed cooperation will commonly, if not characteristically, assume the form of conspiracy.

Mike, Norwalk

In the context given, really funny as well as a fun observation.
