Listen to what they do!

If only Ms. Rand could have seen today's corporocracy, Kelo and mortgage bailouts. One almost wonders if the statists read her novels and got ideas from her villains.

After the obviousness of the quote, most comments will pale in redundancy. All that is left to be said comes by way of examples.

After the obviousness of the quote, most comments will pale in redundancy. All that is left to be said comes by way of examples. Or is that too redundant?

Bryan, (-; I like it a lot ;-)

She summed it up in one sentence.

Very appropos this AM. I just heard that the UK Gov is taking over RBS. "Ayn Rand is arguably one of the most notorious names in the philosophy community...... an idol of the young and naive, and a scorned outcast of the philosophic community." The reason Mike you pale in redundancy is because you don't dig deep enough. You are Mr. Redundant with your victimless crimes etc. I give i star for effort by that is all because Mrs. Rand was a jerk.

On what page of Ayn Rand's book is this quote?

Mike, Norwalk

(-; Bryan, lol, I would have to definitely say that is very much way, way, way, way too redundant! ;-) ! And as for someone that perceives it deep to support harming or punishing a person, when that individual has committed no harm, foul, or infringed on anyone's right, I'll wear such perception of 'not too deep' as a badge of honor.

I feel like I'm watching "Atlas Shrugged" unfold before my very eyes. It is uncanny. How long before the producers throw in the towel, disappear, and tell the moochers and looters to go to hell? Who is John Galt?

E Archer, NYC

Who could argue with this other than the extortionist or the one getting the unearned benefit?

Dick, Fort Worth

How utterly ridiculous is this statement. If it weren't for an occasional decent government action such as the Glass Steagall Act most of us would be penniless. It would be 1/2% filthy rich and the rest of us working for peanuts until we drop dead.

Just watched "The Fountainhead" yesterday. Basically defends the right of an individual to be an individual and build anykind of thing he wants without community direction. That wont go in some of the Alpine Communities, or Southern Charm communities I know about. Regional, ethnic communities may feel they need protection from such rampant indiviiduality. This points out the shallowness of Ayn Rand.

warren, olathe

Don't watch "The Fountainhead" read it. Ayn did not make the movie. You have to be incredibly shallow to think Ayn is shallow. Her understanding of human nature can not be disputed.

Johnny, Athens

This quote will forever be taken as gospel from those enjoying an unfair advantage in the marketplace. The rest will see it for what it is, a defense of private tyranny.
