A great writer, inventor, orator. He loved this country so much that he ended up sacrificing his relationship with his son who had allegiance to the British Royal Crown. Benjamin Franklin was the first US Ambassador to France and England, representing and addressing the concerns of the 13 American Colonies on the international stage prior to, during and after the American Revolution. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 7/8/05 I may look like a sheep, but I carry a handgun for protection. Wolves ... beware! Reply Treal., It's not my "town" near Fairbanks, Alaska. 7/9/05 King George, III, was king of : England, France and Ireland during that time period, and Benjamin Franklin borrowed gold from him for the colony's, under "usery" Reply A HREF="http://www.myegotimes.com/" target="_tab", Vancouver, GVRD(Paine County), BC/Lower Mainland (State of Neo Sumer), US of Eh!(USoA) 7/13/05 Not france. None the less this statement is very true and amusing to those of us who aren't sheep. Their pastors are leading them to the slaughterhouse of irrationality. 3 Reply Chris, Golden, CO 11/27/07 Ditto to Sheldon... It's so refreshing to see Ben Franklin's wisdom placed in its proper context as opposed to the leftist misinterpretation of his quotes that we have so often been spoon-fed in school. Clearly, small government, a well-armed and educated population, and a strong military are the pillars of a strong country and it's high time we move back in that direction. Our borders need to be enforced, power must be restored to the states, and a healthy respect of the men who fight and die for our country must again be recognized. Reply Nancy, Marion, OH 4/22/08 Wake up, conservatives. We must be active. Our founding fathers obviously knew what they were talking about. And we have become complacent and lax. Washington has not, thanks to us. We are headed for major destruction if we do nothing. Reply zodraz, vortex 4 5/28/08 as always a truism 2 Reply jim k, Austin 5/14/15 The biggest threat to our country is that "religion" of peace, Islam. We need to wake up. You can slander a protestant, a Jew, a Catholic, are any other religion except Islam. You mustn't say anything negative about a "religion" that says it's fine to cut of a non- believer's head. That's political correctness for you. 2 Reply Mike, Norwalk 5/14/15 Sheep here references those patrons of the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land, prostrating themselves before compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, larceny (life, property, 2nd plank of the communist manifesto - taxes, funny money, etc.), non-acceptance of individual sovereign rights and all else that is contrary to liberty and the laws of nature and nature's God (natural law). Sheepole accept the morality of a god's dole while their wolf masters eat out their sustenance, rights and more and more frequently - their being. Such exercises as Jade-Helm demonstrate a cook book's preparation for devouring the otherwise unsavory. Reply E Archer, NYC 5/14/15 I notice the personas of ALL the animals within the human community. Some are predators, some are prey. Some carnivores, some vegetarian. Some have 'hive' mentalities, some are fiercely independent. Sheep DO get eaten! Who are you? ;-) Reply Ronw13, Yachats Or 5/14/15 Very well observed Archer, There is not enough space to speak of this identification of the creature. Know this, sheep are for Peter to watch over, for the religious to note, Paul on the other hand, a wolf that divides the spoil in the night !! Liberty from the law !! Many, as You and Mike, have the heart of the lion, the cunning of the leopard, but to divided the spoil in the night ? is, another thing, all together ! Lions and tigers are on the decline, leopards are on the rise ! We are not sheep, as the denominational system would suggest !!
