Government bureaucracies stay in business with the first line and so they never want you know about the other two which is why they control education.

Ken, Greenville, MS

Government controls only with the consent of the governed. We deserve whatever difficulties those we elect impose upon us.

Doug, Calif

In some weird way, you are both right.

E Archer, NYC

Leave me alone and I will have to figure out on my own how to make it in this world. I will seek out those from whom I wish to learn.

Anonymous, Hansville, WA

More schools and teachers need to understand this with regard to many of their students. Schools are mostly geared to reading and listening, but many kids learn best by working with their hand actually doing something.

Wendy, Sacramento

Absolutely true. Why have teachers forgotten this---or did they ever learn it?

Payton, New Zealand

Wendy, they are learning this, in NZ anyway I cannot speak for other countries. They are very much into collaborative learning with children doing hands on activities and then discussing what they have done, and what they learnt from it. By explaining this to the class in an informal environment it also reinforces the speakers knowledge as they are explaining their thoughts and teaching others adding another dimension to their learning.
