Reply Mike, Norwalk Waffler, Smith 3/4/19 Waffler — NO ! ! ! The nuclear family which I'm part of (my family and I — individually and in concert) most accurately at law, are the center of the earth (economically, socially, etc., etc., etc.) The most mature and accurate perception and realization of each individual (with their nuclear family) being the center of the earth is the same as mine. Your Borg (lawless collectivism) is a most immature concept. Reply cal, lewisville, tx 9/28/10 So many would sacrafice anyone else for their family, but rarely themselves. Reply RBESRQ 9/28/10 Plus their bread and circus and %#*% the rest. Apathy abounds under the tent of US greed and ignorance. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/28/10 Oddly the first thought I had was not of the nuclear family but of BIG CENTRAL GOVERNMENT doing things TO us for THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE. Which is a crock in and of itself. My first loyalties will always be to my immediate family and their well being. My second loyalty is to the sovereign individual and the defense of his or her individual rights. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 9/28/10 Many a hair brained scheme from government, local, state, and federal, is done in the name of saving our children, and if you oppose it you are branded as being against children. Reply L. Hanson, Edmonton 9/28/10 How appropriately this quote from ancient Greece fits so well in today's world. Nothing has changed. Reply E Archer, NYC 9/28/10 These days people are waking up to the fact that the best thing you can do for the children is to keep them away from politicians. Baby-kissing is still a primitive tactic for getting votes. Reply Johann Hollar, Saint Paul, MN 9/29/10 I couldn't agree with him more. Reply Ron, Salem 10/2/10 Reply anonymous 8/14/14 Reply Mike, Norwalk 8/14/14 OK, could be, I just haven't met that person. Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 8/14/14 Mike look around you... this quote is ONLY to do with one of many reasons for greed, period! It's the same reason that America invades other countries - there excuse is one of humanity, an excuse which couldn't be further from the truth... Reply Mike, Norwalk 8/14/14 Robert, I was probably too narrow in my scope of defining greed. I haven't known any one individual to justify the liberal's concept of monetary greed by blaming their offspring. A more broad scope of greed, that would cover and include power and control, would definitely fit your example. 1 Reply Mike, Pleasant Hill 8/14/14 On the subject of "GREED," who wields the measuring instrument of it and what are their biases and agendas, and from where did they derive their opinion, from the holy Scriptures or pop and political culture? The war on Christianity continues likewise God's plan of the family. A good father sacrifices and works hard for his family but not to the exclusion of the time they need of him and his positive influence. I have little to fear from a man who is ambitious and desires to gain monetary wealth, but a man who desires political power to influence /control and plunder the lives of every day sovereign freemen and that has not derived his wisdom from a source anchored in natural law concerns me greatly! Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 8/14/14 Mike (Norwalk) Excellent! we really do think alike....Mike (Pleasant Hill), the two are often combined...By the way, tell me more on the war against Christianity... does this refer to both Evangelicals and Catholics...? Reply Ron w13, Or 8/14/14 The nature of the beast. How befitting a subject to discuss a little of socialism and the nature of greed. To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding. ; to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity. to give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. For they say, We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil. ( Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: ) My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. So are the ways of every one that is ( greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owner thereof. It is amazing how simple our God points things out. In reference to the out come of this behavior we look at ( Ezekiel 22:12 ) Socialism by way of oppression of ones neighbor. Considering our liberty and freedom as Holy things that they are. They have been profaned." In the have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast ( greedily gained of thy neighbors by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God. Now in ref, to the actual nature I turn to our apostle of liberty Paul. ( Ephesians 4:14,19 ) That we henceforth be no more children, tosses to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with ( greediness ) . ( Pleonexia ), covetousness, But more to the nature of the beast, Pleonexia is the more active sin, Philargyria the more passive. Philargyria refers to seeking to rertain what is possessed and, through accumulation, to multiply what is possessed. Pleonexia often implies bold and aggressive methods of acquisition; it frequently to behavior that is as free in scattering and squandering as it was eager and unscrupulous in acquiring. Pleonexia often squanders what he has received. The main difference between the two is being that between Covetousness and avarice, the former having a much wider and deeper sense, being " the genus of which Philargyria is the species. The " covetous " man or government is often cruel as well as grasping, while the avaricious man is simply miserly and stinting. Reply Robert, St. Emilion, France 8/14/14 Fear is the curse of mankind it make us all slaves... Reply Ron w13, Or 8/14/14 The curse of mankind is to keep the law for justification. As with the last word in the OT. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. so says the Rock upon which our Republic rest ! The KJB Reply Ron w13, Or 8/14/14 Robert, we are not slaves as your neutral point implies, but God's children, that is why we love him so ! He gives us liberty and freedom. Should we state what kind ? Another neutral naturalistic view point, narrow in mindset and a carnal base ! Please present a common core of natural law. Such as an observation of natural occurrence in you selection of nature to support you position other than your vain self ! Reply E Archer, NYC 8/15/14 @Mike/Pleasant Hill, well said, I agree! @Ron, you're losing it, man, come back to Earth. Vain indeed to keep preaching without connecting with those to whom you speak. The 'for the children' excuse is constantly thrown at us to justify any matter of oppression of anyone and everyone -- why do we keep buying it? Why didn't my parents protect me from the government? ! The best you can do for the children is stop giving to the State the fruits of your labors to take care of everyone poorly; rather, apply your labors to the betterment of your family. Hire teachers when needed -- heck, even take a class with your children. The best we can do for our children is teach them how to take care of themselves and raise a family of their own if they wish. That takes skills and knowledge -- not degrees or certificates which are primarily for keeping folks out of well-paying rackets. Aspiring doctors and lawyers must jump through years of hoops, borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars for their 'education', and must join mandatory trade unions in order to practice their trade. Once subordinated to the union, they begin practicing their trade within the 'approved' guidelines -- very often contradictory to the fields of medicine or law itself. Thus we have millions of laws, most of which cannot apply to the common man, and 'enforcement' officers to make the people follow 'laws' that are in fact unlawful. Doctors once 'board-certified' must proscribe the 'approved' treatments of the AMA or risk losing their license (and never get it back -- after decades of study and a mountain of debt) and so the patient only gets big pharma's deadly cocktails of the day.So when education becomes merely a means to condition people to be obedient servants to serve a cartel (and there are dozens of examples besides doctors and lawyers) the ruling class benefits -- and the common man is further bound."We don't need no education! We don't need no thought control! Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone!" -- Pink Floyd, The Wall Reply Ron w13, Or 8/15/14 Archer, your neutral point of view does show, My Master and Lord is not of earth. If one wishes for freedom and opportunity in this nation by all means you are welcome. But not to tread on me. As my forefathers 131 years before the founding of this America brought the doctrines of liberty and freedom to light through the preaching of the truth rightly divided. I am of the original protestants. Founding and a part of the same movement started long ago. This place is going to hell in a basket. With a firm reliance on Divine Providence. I do not caudle the congregation. But say the truth, and where it lands is not up to me. But the word of God never returns void. It does prosper. The preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but to us which are saved it is the power of God. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ of whom the doctrines of our liberty and freedom are joined at the hip. The creature was made subject to vanity not willingly but by the same who subjects us to hope. People wish to speak of God given rights while taking our God out of the picture. Won't work ! Check !
