It is necessary live honorably ? The last 50 years of US Presidents disproves that. Kant, please define happily and honourably.

Mike, they are absolutes regarding a personal comment, they do not need defining.
Do you define truth and honesty??
I kant think of a better quote for being honorable....

Commonsense dictates logical reasoning ! Kant being in line with our Founding Fathers. Empiricism vs Rationalist thought. Mike's skepticism is noted, the " Age of Enlightenment," the term in itself bears great gravity to what unfolds through time. Kant in one accord with Plato, dealing with metaphysics and the intelligible realm of understanding, good and its source. Natural laws of morality are prior to experience, yet through experience our being is tempered. " Experience is our guide " to understanding " The form of the good " We return to the presence of God. " The spirit of God is good " it is the form that allows one to realize all other forms. Human solidarity is metaphysical ! Strife, striving with opposition becomes senseless. Germany was no doubt split concerning Liberty and its source. Martin Luther comes to mind, and the so called birth of Reformation of what and where our Type of Liberty originates. " It is an honor for a man to cease from strife " and with that, " Humility before Honor ". With my own, experience, to strive with unjust law, is frustrating to all. To cease from strife along these lines of understanding gains favor with God ! As with our Founding Fathers to cease from strife with England, and tyrannical rule of authority, brought about needed Divine Leadership,( Providence ) at the needed and appointed time, ( Due Season, how sweet it is, a word spoken in ). Much wisdom can be spoken of concerning, the unfolding of guidance, ( Correction of instruction is the way of life ). To live happily does not exclude the burden of necessity. Joy in the heart, does not mean the body is without pain !
