Pickett, Tampa, Florida. 9/29/05 It has been both Democrat and Republican, Liberal And Conservitive who have been ready to redifine our rights and send out mindless thugs in the form of "law enforcement" agents to kill us for our own good, and it has been the unthinking public who have surendered our rights to these same politicians. Clinton (no better than the rest) made manifest what is in the nature of politicians as a whole. Thug Noun {C} A man who acts violently, especially to commit a crime: "Mindless thugs"? The agents did not hurt anyone. They acted on a court order and have more scruples, and integrity than Bill Clinton and Janet Reno who sent them inside the house to recover Elian Gonzalez. Bill Clinton committed a felony by lying to a grand jury and he is the one who sent highly trained and yes heavily armed federal agents inside to do HIS bidding. How are they "thugs”? The agents were pawns in a game. Not mindless thugs, maybe cogs of the leviathan of big government. It is easy to stand on the sideline so self-righteous and call names. However, blame the politicians for misusing a professional segment of our Federal Government. Reply Joe Martinez, Baghdad, Iraq 9/30/05 We live in a free society, a society that has a constitution and in one of the bills states you have the rights to bear ARM's. Politicians whether from the left or the right have no concept of what it is like to be a law enforcement officer, federal agent or a combat soldier. These same bureucrats are the ones that use these agents of peace for their own little political gains. So in fact when these agents are used in a matter that is unfit to the public, it is not the politicians that take the blame, it is the soldier on the ground that gets blamed for his decision. Also keep in mind that we live in a society that's ever-growing violent and is not slowing down. So Mr.Bovard until I see you patroling the streets of East LA or downtown Baghdad, shut the fuck up. Reply Bobby, Knoxville, Tn 9/30/05 Amen Joe, Couldn't have said it better. God Bless you guys over there we pray for you ! Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/30/05 Politicians are the true "mindless thugs". You won't find them (or their kids) fighting in Iraq. You WILL find them taking your rights, one type of gun at a time, adding law after law of infringement. They foolishly say law enforcement are the only people who should have guns, but in reality officers are as likely as anyone to break the law. While federal agents are "only following orders", so were the Nazi guards of death camps. How long before benevolent federal agents show up on our doorstep to confiscate our guns? The Patriot Act says all they have to do is say you COULD be a terrorist to remove all your rights. Free society? Not any more! Reply Peter, Detroit 9/30/05 Bobby from Knoxville claims they didn't hurt anyone. Tell that to the dead at Waco! Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 11/7/06 Does the fact that "the agents didn't hurt anyone" make what they did acceptable? I don't thinks so. Why are armed agents good and armed civilians bad? I argue it's the other way around. Agents killed people at Ruby Ridge and Waco, trying to force them to do something they didn't want to do. All the government had to do was wait, but fabricated lies and tricks to get these people, who may or may NOT have done anything wrong. Reply bowa, philadelphia 8/11/07 great quote. It reminds me how insensitive the Clinton administration was -- not only the children at waco, but how many the million Rwandans that were slaughtered over a few weeks on Clinton's watch.
