Reply Byron, Fort Collins, CO 6/15/11 Towards the end of the *excellent* Youtube video, "Walter Williams: Up From the Projects", by reason.tv, Prof. Williams says about the same thing. However, it's NOT a done deal yet for America. We owe it to ourselves to do EVERYTHING possible to fight the corruption and inertia of Washington. We need to stop "Waiting for the Barbarians" (Constantine Cavafy) and do the best we can every day. Reply Waffler, Smith 6/15/11 who can argue with what is "natural". It apparently is our destiny to falter like every one else. We should accept our fate with graciousness. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 6/15/11 Gee Waffler...you mean like we graciously accepted the tyranny of King George? Hmmm...I think we "graciously" shot their authoritarian asses to pieces and threw them into the sea. But you can go ahead and be a sheep if you like. It suits you. :) Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 6/15/11 Waffler, you would be better served if you would remember this quote, "Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than open it and remove all doubt". However, in your case it may be too late. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA, US 6/15/11 Reply Mike, Vancouver, Canada 6/15/11 Like the Roman Empire, history repeats itself. The real culprits behind this country's demise are the Red Shields (Rothschild) and its ilk Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD1G7f4bE0w. I saw on the news the other day that the US is planning to default payments on their 1.4 Trillion debt to the Federal Reserve Bank (owned by Rothschild and its ilk). Personally, I think its a good start to fight the choke hold they have on the US and the rest of the world. Reply Robken 6/15/11 1 Reply E Archer, NYC 6/15/11 Funny how we Americans never think that we are being propagandized like the Germans were. The US government is following the fascist path, and the political parties keep the delusion going. Will the masses of Americans realize it in time before it is too late? The last Great Depression rang in the fascist model -- what will the 2nd Great Depression do? Either we break from this nonsense or they will tighten the noose further. The baby boomers have been the cash cow that has funded this leviathan -- now that they are dying off, what will happen to the rest? They know even less about republicanism, liberty, and personal responsibility. Reply Felipe, São Paulo 6/26/19 I think most people approving the quote (great quote, obviously) aren't really getting the deeper meaning. It might not only be about the fall of democracy or the rise of tyrants. SaveOk2 SaveOk2 View CommentsClick to view or comment.
