And the DCMoFoes will be calling it all politically correct, as they round us up for disagreeing with them.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

Ralph Reiland is completely correct, as are Norwalk Mike and J Carlton.

You got that right. And don't you just love terms like "noncompliance", pro-active, diversity, value-added, etc.? Whenever I hear some FAQ-wad use words like that with a straight face, I want to ask them if they believe the @#$% they've just farted out.

Ron Paul for president in 2012!

Apparently, the State has been accruing power like Barad Dur while I slept. The only thing for which I'm grateful to Obama is that his egotism, his end runs around Congress, his fiats, have FINALLY begun to expose the festering mass to daylight.

"...you will find no authorization for Congress to subsidize the arts..." HALLELUJAH!!! With the exception of classical music and symphony orchestras, we are in an artistically dark age, despite decades of government's throwing our tax dollars at talentless, undisciplined, marketing-savvy sensationalists!

FDR was the biggest A hole in 20th Century American history, in more ways than this.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

I never knew how bad FDR was for America until Obama got elected. For that and only that reason am I glad Obama got elected.

Towards the end of the *excellent* Youtube video, "Walter Williams: Up From the Projects", by reason.tv, Prof. Williams says about the same thing. However, it's NOT a done deal yet for America. We owe it to ourselves to do EVERYTHING possible to fight the corruption and inertia of Washington. We need to stop "Waiting for the Barbarians" (Constantine Cavafy) and do the best we can every day.

I've always thought that the miracle of Rembrandt van Rijn, Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, and all other great creators was not so much that they had mastered their craft, but that they had mastered it AND were prolific despite having to prop up the 'wet circus tent' of bureaucratic evil made to hang above them by those in power who had long ago abandoned creativity.

I'll have to remember this whenever I go to the US Post Office or to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Another terrific quotation, which applies, really, to all control freaks, from terrible parents to terrible acquaintances to terrible "partners" to terrible managers to terrible politicians. The moment you take total responsibility for yourself is the moment you win, even if you die in the process. There are few feelings more satisfactory than cutting off a control freak. Don't let 'em domesticate you.

The Fed has been exposed. So . . . what are we gonna do about it? I'd like to see Paul Ryan run for president. He's one of the handful of Congressional representatives with a brain, who's actually doing his job.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

Wow. One of the most astute observations of human character ever. Years ago, I abandoned _The Fountainhead_ in disgust at its 1-D characters. The laser accuracy of that quotation makes me want to read at least _Atlas Shrugged_. Simply outstanding.

Brilliant quotation by Rick Tompkins. __Civil disobedience. It's time for MASS civil disobedience.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

What really ticks me off is that people who spend time creating (art, software, etc.) or fixing things, or playing with their children, etc., have to interrupt their joyous 'flow' experiences to mind the sociopaths running our banks and government.___The bizarre, insatiable need for power on the part of our 'leaders' comes, I think, from profound insecurity--from never having been loved and accepted *as they are*. The priceless, satisfying experience of unconditional love makes material excess look like dross. These human shells make us all pay for their lack of love and fulfillment.

This quotation must've been sent around a few years ago. What was true under W. Bush is even more so now under Obama.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

I didn't like W. Bush, but find Obama is *MUCH* worse, since he has the mainstream media behind him all the way--lying, censoring, always abridging and editing. The 'news' is only propaganda these days.

@Robken, I enjoy your posts. No worries, mate! __Abigail has posted some terrific things today. Thanks! America is in deep trouble, which has been worsening for decades while many like me slept.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

@Robken, You've got that right! ___Read Major General Smedley Darlington Butler's 1935 book _War is a Racket_, in which he describes the (mind-boggling) workings of the military-industrial complex. ___I detest the Obamanation, but have to thank him for his repeated unconstitutional power-grabs, since these have finally made me (and other Americans) aware of pervasive corruption in our "democratic" government and mainstream media. ___The days are evil, and we must stand strong.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

Today's quotation makes utmost sense, given that most "Kings" and King-wannabes have no other trade and couldn't compete in a free market to save their sorry R-ses.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

@al in DC, many thanks for bringing up "War is a Racket" By Major General Smedley Butler.__Genuine popular grievances are too often seized upon by Narcissists with ulterior motives of power and greed who twist war to their own ends.__It would be nice if power-mad Narcissists would realize their insatiable drive for world domination springs from something as "simple" as their own personal insecurities.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

In _The Screwtape Letters_, C.S. Lewis observed that the devil runs amok at least as pervasively during peacetime as during wartime.___Although America has been 'at war' (abroad) for many decades, *at home*, we have, like the Romans, enjoyed prolonged peace, a bloated standard of living, excessive materialism, and gangrenous complacency.___We have not used our leisure productively. The ability of ANY people, nay, of any INDIVIDUAL, to use their time wisely is small compared to the destructive path of convenience.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

Having seen America's vast resources first-hand while a Harvard student, Admiral Yamamoto was ALWAYS FIRMLY against war with the United States. Although more honorable, wiser, and much better-informed, Yamamoto's voice was shouted-down by those around him--opportunistic politicians who hoped to gain by rallying the populace against an external enemy. Sure sounds familiar.

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

WOW! Talk about Politically Incorrect and right on!...What follows from this quotation is that, in a healthy society, promotions should be based on merit, not on Affirmative Action, nor on cronyism, nor on nepotism. Merit.
