Reply J Carlton, Calgary 11/5/07 Or as Orwell put it " In times of universal deciept, telling the truth is revolutionary" We need a lot more truth. Reply RobertSRQ 11/5/07 In an unenlightened society its a pink slip or could be even worse. I'm afraid advancement can only occur when we stop going backwards and that is a dim light down the end of the tunnel. Reply Ken, Allyn, WA 11/5/07 Civilization has advanced and receded throughout our entire history like the ebb and flow of the tide. Advanced and enlightened society has turned into a dark age because of pandemics, wars, powerful elites wanting ever more power, and on and on. Civilizations just become tired and worn out sometimes with the general population getting too fat, happy, and dependent on government. But you can always tell an advancing civilization because you have dissenters that are allowed to speak without having brown shirted thugs shouting and beating them down. Unfortunately, the closest thing we have to brown shirts today call you a Nazi when you disagree with them. They call themselves "liberal" of course. Reply warren, olathe 11/6/07 Right on Ken. Constructive is the key work in that quote. Today’s left are just a Nazi movement with different enemies. Reply Mike, Norwalk 8/21/14 The qualifier, "constructive" - places "doubt" in an affirmative and useful attribute. Increasingly and advancing are also used here well. Reply jim k, austin tx 8/21/14 And Ken, they are just SO progressive. Reply Mike, Pleasant Hill 8/21/14 Perhaps it is human nature that ebbs and flows, one generation understands it to a positive affect and another generation does not understand it and makes policies deifying it and suffers the unintended negative effects. Reply Ron w13, Yachats Or 8/21/14 So true Mike, But each generation receives the truth via Revelation. !! Praise Divine Providence ! God is Alive and well. Insight, to the eyes to understanding. Just a light in the night. The Day Star !! Reply Mike, Norwalk 8/22/14 Ron, I agree and understand the divine Providence. Reply Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown 4/13/23 The present material and species arrangements, I doubt, are in line with nature's intended designations or purposes.
