“In the midst of these pleasing ideas we should be unfaithful to ourselves if we should ever lose sight of the danger to our liberties if anything partial or extraneous should infect the purity of our free, fair, virtuous, and independent elections.”

The single most form of body politic feared or disdained at the founding of the representative republican form of administration was a democracy. By way of example: "Democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for supper. Freedom is a well armed lamb contesting the vote." (attributed Benjamin Franklin) There are huge differences between "democracy" and a "democratic form of government"; and, a "republic" and a "republican form of government". Free, fair, virtuous, and independent elections that concern liberty can only choose how to administer nature's laws that all ready exist, as is diametrically opposed to choosing which carnal gods have the ability to make or create law. A litany of criminal activity added to an already corrupt system, such as democracy, only heightens the lose of sight and danger to liberty.

In the absence of Virtue, the attainment of true Republicanism is, at best, a chimera.

As the American Colossus, Mr. Adams, expressed it in his letter to the Massachusetts Militia, Oct.11,1798:

" Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

So many "pleasing ideas" have now corrupted the republican form of government into a type of church to which we all must belong, tithing as we should, asking for special dispensations from government ministers, expecting charity and security. One will find oneself either among the collective or the administrators attending to the collective. But submission to authority does not suit the self-determined -- the shoe doesn't fit, no matter how pleasing it's design. Soon, we find ourselves simply voting for our 'fair share' of the spoils of war and servitude.

The sad state of our elections, in the whole process we have only elected individuals with a partial or extraneous representative effectiveness.  Meaning, we've never had anyone with a true vision to inspire an entire nation to rise a new level of developmental excellence.  We need the type of individual that would take us to a higher level of the life cycle.
